Hollywood elites have been in full meltdown mode since Donald Trump's landslide victory.
George Clooney just took things to a new level.
And George Clooney accused Bari Weiss of one big crime that had Trump supporters cheering.
Clooney attacks CBS News chief from his French mansion
George Clooney fled America for France and officially made his children French citizens.
But the Ocean's Eleven star apparently thinks Americans should still care what he thinks about the country he abandoned.
Clooney went on the attack against Bari Weiss, the new editor-in-chief at CBS News, claiming she's "dismantling" the network in a lengthy Variety interview.¹
"Bari Weiss is dismantling CBS News as we speak," Clooney declared from his multimillion-dollar French villa. "Am I worried about film studios? Sure. It's my business, but my primary loyalty is to my country. I'm much more worried about how we inform ourselves and how we're going to discern reality without a functioning press."²
Translation: Weiss is ending the cozy relationship between biased CBS journalists and the Democrat Party.
That's what really has Clooney throwing this tantrum.
The actor, who portrayed legendary CBS newsman Edward R. Murrow in a recent Broadway production of Good Night, and Good Luck, apparently thinks he's qualified to lecture real journalists about their jobs.
Weiss pulled a 60 Minutes segment just hours before it was set to air because the piece was nothing but propaganda for illegal aliens deported to El Salvador's CECOT prison under Trump's policies.³
The segment only included sob stories from deportees about how tough the prison conditions were.
Weiss insisted that CBS News include on-the-record comments from Trump administration officials before the story ran.⁴
That's called balanced journalism.
But to Clooney and the biased hacks at 60 Minutes, requiring both sides of the story is "dismantling" CBS News.
Clooney spouts economic illiteracy from across the Atlantic
Clooney then parroted Democrat talking points about Trump's economy.
"Just straight up, it's the economy stupid," Clooney exclaimed. "It's more expensive now than it was when Joe Biden left office. And powerful people tend to overplay their hands. I think that cruelty, like separating children from their parents, although popular with small groups of people, doesn't play well with most Americans."⁵
The stupid may be with Clooney.
Gas prices have plummeted nearly 50% since Trump took office.
Food prices are down.
Wages are up for American workers.
Jobs for Americans are skyrocketing.
Inflation is way below Biden's disastrous rates.
Economic growth under Trump hit 4.3% compared to Biden's pathetic 2.3% in 2024.
But Clooney thinks Americans living in the real world should take economic advice from a guy worth hundreds of millions who lives in a French château.
Clooney also claimed Trump's "popularity is very low and it's not going to be shooting back up."⁶
That's another lie.
Trump's approval rating has remained steady and even gone up in several polls.
The only polls showing Trump underwater are the same biased outlets that predicted he'd lose in 2024.
Clooney attacked CBS and ABC for settling Trump's lawsuits instead of fighting them in court.
"If CBS and ABC had challenged those lawsuits and said, 'Go, f*** yourself, we wouldn't be where we are in the country," Clooney stated. "That's simply the truth."⁷
CBS paid Trump $16 million to settle his lawsuit over the network deceptively editing a 60 Minutes interview with Kamala Harris to make her look less incompetent than she really is.⁸
The network settled because they knew they'd lose in court.
Weiss delivers brutal response to Hollywood hypocrite
Weiss fired back at Clooney with a perfect response.
"Bonjour, Mr. Clooney! Big fan of your work. It sounds like you'd like to learn more about ours," Weiss wrote. "This is an open invitation to visit the CBS Broadcast Center, where I'm spending the holidays working to relaunch the Evening News with my colleagues. Tune in January 5."⁹
The "bonjour" was a brutal troll of Clooney's decision to become a French citizen and abandon America.
CBS News correspondent Sharyn Alfonsi accused Weiss of making a "political" decision to pull the 60 Minutes segment.¹⁰
But here's what Alfonsi didn't mention.
The Trump administration provided three on-the-record statements from the White House, State Department, and Department of Homeland Security to CBS journalists.¹¹
Alfonsi and her producers simply chose not to include them in the segment.
They wanted to run pure pro-illegal alien propaganda without any balance whatsoever.
That's what CBS News did for decades under the old regime.
Weiss is putting an end to that and requiring actual journalism.
No wonder Hollywood elites who fled America are so upset about it.
