Donald Trump Called It and a Black Democrat Just Confirmed It

Oct 16, 2026

A black Michigan lawmaker called her own party's socialists more racist than the KKK.

Now Trump is saying El-Sayed is going to pay for it at the ballot box.

And a black Democrat just confirmed what Donald Trump said about Abdul El-Sayed.

Black Michigan Voters Are Done Being Taken for Granted

State Representative Karen Whitsett didn’t leave the Democrat Party quietly.

She told Fox News Digital exactly what she thinks of the socialist wing that expects black Michiganders to fall in line behind Abdul El-Sayed.

"It doesn't change, it's just different slave owners," Whitsett said.

She went further.

"They're more racist than the KKK," she said of the far-left Democrats who treat black voter loyalty as automatic – and non-negotiable.

That's a sitting state lawmaker – a black woman who spent years inside the Democrat Party – saying the quiet part out loud.

El-Sayed's campaign didn't respond to Fox News Digital's request for comment on Whitsett's remarks.

The silence said enough.

Trump read the situation the same way Tuesday, posting on Truth Social: "Why would black people vote for Mohammed El-Sayed when he openly scorns them, mocks them, and disrespects them? THEY WON'T!"

He's right – and the numbers prove it.

The Math Doesn't Lie

El-Sayed's black voter problem didn't start with Trump's post.

It started in the Democrat primary, where his own party's black voters rejected him by 46 points – losing to moderate Rep. Haley Stevens among that demographic by a margin that would humiliate most candidates.

Stevens won seven of the twelve Michigan counties with large black voter populations.

El-Sayed won five.

Then it got worse.

A poll taken October 6–10 showed 75 percent of likely black Michigan voters supporting El-Sayed.

A poll taken October 10–14 – just days later – showed that number had dropped to 67 percent.

Eight points in four days.

That's not a candidate consolidating his base.

That's a candidate bleeding support he can't afford to lose.

A black community leader in Detroit told CNN he texted El-Sayed directly after the candidate promised him a roundtable invitation and never followed through.

El-Sayed never texted back.

"I felt so bad. I texted him," the leader said. "But I didn't hear back. So, F-him."

That's not a Republican attack ad.

Bernie Sanders Tried This Too – and Black Voters Remember How That Ended

Bernie Sanders ran this same play in 2020 – build a progressive coalition, assume black voters show up, then watch them break hard for the moderate in South Carolina.

His own aides admitted afterward the strategy was "geared toward white progressives" and left black voters behind.

El-Sayed is running the same play in 2026.

Focus group participants with MS NOW spelled it out directly.

"I think he's taking advantage [of] we as black people are Democrats, and he think we gonna vote for him anyway," one woman said. "And I'm like, 'No sir.'"

El-Sayed himself admitted on the Higher Learning podcast that black Michiganders have reason to distrust people who look like him.

"Too often when folks meet somebody who looks like me, it's not a good experience," he said.

He acknowledged the problem and still didn't fix it.

Michigan is a state Trump won – twice.

Republican groups have already poured more than $60 million into the state, and Mike Rogers is actively courting every black and Jewish Democrat who wants nothing to do with El-Sayed's radical agenda.

Here's what Democrats will never say out loud: the party that lectures America about racism built a machine that treats black voters like a crop to be harvested every two years and forgotten the morning after Election Day.

Karen Whitsett said it out loud.

A Detroit community leader said it out loud.

A black woman in a focus group said it out loud.

The only people pretending not to hear it are the ones running El-Sayed's campaign.
