George Soros bankrolled a think tank to lie about Trump's record.
Trump just hit back.
And Trump just filed a $5 billion lawsuit against the Center for American Progress and the Soros money behind it.
What the Soros Group Actually Claimed
The Center for American Progress – founded with a $3 million promise from George Soros and still flush with his cash decades later – published a report in July claiming Trump's National Guard deployments had "no impact on crime."
That's not a policy disagreement.
That's a lie with a price tag.
The America First Policy Institute ran the actual numbers from the Metropolitan Police Department.
After Trump deployed the National Guard to Washington, D.C. in August 2025, total crime fell 27 percent compared to the same period the year before.

Homicides dropped 61 percent – 23 people who are alive today because Trump acted.
Robberies collapsed 54 percent.
Motor vehicle thefts fell 53 percent.
The CAP report ignored all of it.
Instead, their analyst Chandler Hall went on television and announced to America that the National Guard had accomplished nothing.
Trump responded exactly the way Americans who've watched left-wing institutions lie for decades wanted him to respond.
"Chandler Hall, representing, on Television, the foolish Center for American Lack of Progress, stated that adding the National Guard to Cities, including our now Great Again, Washington, D.C., had 'NO impact on Crime,'" Trump wrote on Truth Social. "Hall was met with furious dissent."
The lawsuit is being drawn now.
The Network Behind the Lie
Trump didn't just name CAP in his lawsuit threat.
He named the funders.
George Soros. Bill and Melinda Gates. Google. Apple. Visa. Goldman Sachs. Citigroup. Wells Fargo. Bank of America. Walmart. Toyota. T-Mobile. NBC Universal.
Foreign contributions from the Embassy of Japan, the Korea Foundation, and the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates.
This is not a scrappy nonprofit doing independent research.

This is a billion-dollar influence machine – built by Soros, staffed by Obama and Clinton alumni, run today by Neera Tanden who spent years in Biden's White House – designed to manufacture facts that undercut conservative governance.
CAP was founded by John Podesta in 2003 with Soros money specifically to serve as the left's policy operation.
Every report they publish serves that mission.
This Is Exactly What These Organizations Do
The pattern is always the same.
Trump acts.
Lives are saved.
The left-wing think tank publishes a "study" claiming nothing happened.
Media runs the study.
Democrats cite the study.
The lie becomes the official record.
The Breitbart reporting from August 2025 told the real story before the CAP report even landed: violent crime in Washington dropped 22 percent in the week after Trump announced his crackdown, with zero murders in the city over seven consecutive days.
Zero.
The CAP report didn't have an answer for that.
So they pretended it didn't happen.

Trump's lawyers sent a nine-page letter demanding a full retraction, an apology, and compensation – or face a $5 billion defamation lawsuit.
CAP's general counsel called it "utterly absurd."
That's exactly what an organization says when they know the lawsuit is going to cost them a fortune to fight off even if they win.
What Comes Next
CAP and their allies in the media are already framing this as an attack on the First Amendment.
They're wrong – and they know it.
The First Amendment doesn't give a Soros-funded operation the right to publish politically manufactured conclusions and call them facts.
Trump has been here before.
He sued ABC. He sued CNN.
He sued the Des Moines Register.
The media laughs every time – right up until the moment the checks clear.

This time he's not targeting a news organization.
He's targeting the entire Soros-funded policy infrastructure that manufactures the lies news organizations then report as fact.
That's a different fight.
And these organizations – for all their Ivy League staffers and hedge-fund donors – have never had to defend themselves against a president willing to make them spend millions proving that 23 saved lives actually happened.
They're about to find out what that costs.
