Wolf Blitzer just got caught lying about American troops on live television.
He told a Democrat governor that Trump's mail ballot order would harm military voters overseas.
Now Wolf Blitzer’s issuing on-air corrections, which means millions heard the lie before anyone heard the truth.
What Blitzer Actually Said
Last Friday, Blitzer sat down with Virginia Democrat Governor Abigail Spanberger to hammer Trump's executive order cracking down on mail-in voting.
The executive order – signed March 31, 2026 – directed the U.S. Postal Service to create a new system regulating who could vote by mail, requiring states to presubmit lists of eligible mail voters.
Blitzer handed Spanberger her talking point on a silver platter.
"In Virginia, you have a lot of military personnel who totally rely on mail-in ballots if they want to be able to express their opinions," he told her.
Spanberger ran with it.

She said it was members of the military, diplomatic service, and intelligence services – "people serving overseas in service to our country" – whose ballots would be threatened.
There was just one problem.
It wasn't true.
The Law Blitzer Forgot Existed
The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act – UOCAVA – has protected military and overseas voter ballots since 1986.
It is federal law.
It requires states to send absentee ballots to overseas military voters at least 45 days before any federal election.
It requires states to accept registration and ballot applications by the 30th day before an election.
It gives military voters the right to return ballots by mail, fax, or electronically.
Trump's Postal Service directive – the one Blitzer and Spanberger were attacking – specifically exempts UOCAVA voters from its new rules.
Blitzer admitted this himself Monday night, issuing what he called "a quick note of clarification."

"Those ballots are exempt from the Postal Service's new rules implementing the president's March executive order," he told viewers. "Those groups are covered under the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act," he added – citing the exact federal law that has protected military voting for forty years.
This Is What Democrat Propaganda Looks Like
He repeated a Democrat talking point without checking whether it was true, then gave Spanberger a national platform to amplify it.
Days later, after the damage was done, he issued a correction that most viewers never saw.
This is the same playbook CNN ran on the Russia hoax, the same one they ran on the Hunter Biden laptop, and the same one they're running on Trump's election integrity push.
Step one: amplify the Democrat talking point.
Step two: let it saturate the news cycle.
Step three: issue a quiet correction that gets a fraction of the original coverage.
CNN wasn't founded to inform Americans about military voting laws.
It was founded to make Democrats look like heroes and Republicans look like threats – and Wolf Blitzer just showed you exactly how that works.
The Bigger Picture
Virginia is one of 23 Democrat-led states that sued to block Trump's executive order.

Spanberger is the Democrat governor of a state with one of the highest concentrations of active military personnel in the country – Fort Belvoir, Langley, Quantico, the Pentagon itself sits across the Potomac.
She knew exactly what she was doing when she invoked troops.
And Blitzer gave her the platform to do it without pushing back – without knowing, apparently, that the foundational premise of the entire segment was false.
The Supreme Court has already partially lifted one of the injunctions blocking Trump's order, and the administration is fighting in court to get election integrity measures in place before November.
Your military sons and daughters overseas are protected.
Wolf Blitzer just didn't know that – or didn't bother to find out before going on air.
