University-Funded Radio Host Resigned After Secret Service Investigated This JD Vance Death Threat

Jan 15, 2026

Since Charlie Kirk's assassination on September 10, 2025, threats against conservative leaders have become disturbingly routine.

The FBI, Secret Service, and local authorities have been working overtime to track down radicals calling for violence.

And a university-funded radio host resigned after Secret Service investigated this JD Vance death threat.

Bluesky Death Threat: UMass Lowell Radio Host Called for JD Vance Assassination

A volunteer DJ at UMass Lowell's student radio station posted a direct call for Vice President JD Vance's murder on Bluesky, the left-wing-dominated social media platform.

A WUML radio host used an account on Bluesky to respond to claims about Vance's views on Britain and France.

The response was chilling in its directness.

"It's simple, we kill JD Vance."

UMass Lowell police immediately coordinated with the FBI, Secret Service, and Haverhill police the same day they learned about the threat.

The Secret Service confirmed to Fox News Digital that agents were aware of the post and conducted necessary assessments with federal partners.

Authorities determined there was no immediate threat after making contact with the individual and conducting their investigation.

But the damage was done.

The person behind the violent rhetoric resigned from their volunteer role at WUML and deleted the post from their Bluesky account.

The school revealed that the person making death threats against the Vice President was an alumnus, not a current student.

FBI and Secret Service Investigate Pattern of Threats Against Vice President Vance

Vance has faced an unprecedented wave of threats and violence since becoming Vice President.

A 26-year-old man was arrested on January 5 after breaking windows at Vance's Cincinnati home with a hammer and attempting to break in.

William DeFoor damaged Secret Service vehicles and tried to enter the historic Victorian Gothic mansion overlooking the Ohio River.

Vance and his family were in Washington, D.C. at the time, but the attack sent a clear message.

The Vice President thanked the Secret Service and Cincinnati police for their quick response, calling DeFoor "a crazy person" who tried to break in.

DeFoor now faces federal charges including damaging government property, engaging in physical violence on restricted grounds, and assaulting federal officers.

He faces up to 20 years in prison on the assault charge alone.

In November 2025, a Michigan man named James Donald Vance Jr. was sentenced to two years in federal prison for threatening to kill President Trump, Vice President Vance, and one of Trump's children.

The 67-year-old man shared the same initials and first name as the Vice President, using the alias "Diaperjdv" on Bluesky to post specific death threats.

He said he didn't care if Secret Service shot him or if he spent the rest of his life in prison for carrying out his threats.

This marked the second time in one month that someone in West Michigan was sentenced for threatening to kill the President.

Campus Radicalization Fuels Rising Left-Wing Political Violence

UMass Lowell's student radio station gave this person a platform to spread their views for years before they posted death threats against the Vice President.

WUML has functioned as a non-commercial FM station since 1952, funded by the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and fully managed by student members.

The station's website proudly declares it has "given a voice to both the student body of UMass Lowell, and the greater Lowell community" for more than six decades.

That voice apparently includes calls to murder the Vice President.

The university released a carefully worded statement saying such posts are "inconsistent with the values of our democracy and our university."

But where were those values when this alumnus was on their airwaves for who knows how long?

The statement claimed UMass Lowell "takes seriously any threat of violence involving our community."

The school only took it seriously after the Secret Service came knocking.

This is the same pattern playing out on campuses across America since Kirk's assassination.

Campus environments treat conservative voices as existential threats rather than legitimate participants in debate.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies found that left-wing terrorist attacks outnumbered far-right attacks for the first time in more than 30 years during the first half of 2025.

Anti-government extremism motivated 17 of the 41 left-wing incidents since 2016, with partisan extremism motivating another 11.

Campus radicalization is fueling this violence.

Kirk himself was murdered on a college campus while speaking to students at Utah Valley University.

The 22-year-old shooter had attended college briefly and was influenced by radical leftist ideology being taught on campuses nationwide.

Universities foster this extremism by treating conservative voices as existential threats.

When students spend four years being told that Trump supporters are Nazis and conservatives are destroying democracy, some take that message to its logical conclusion.

That conclusion is violence.

Vance has been targeted repeatedly because he represents everything the radical Left hates about the Trump administration.

He's young, articulate, and completely unafraid to confront their ideology head-on.

The Left can't debate him, so they demonize him.

And when demonization isn't enough, some turn to violence.

The resignation of one volunteer DJ doesn't fix the underlying problem.

UMass Lowell and universities across America need to stop enabling the radicalization that leads to death threats and assassination attempts.

Until they do, expect more threats, more attacks, and more violence against conservative leaders.
