An FBI lawyer doctored evidence, pleaded guilty, and walked away with probation.
That's what accountability looked like for nine years – until now.
A grand jury in Florida is about to change that.
The Night John Solomon Learned the Russia Hoax Ran Deeper Than Anyone Knew
It was late. Solomon had just finished a segment on Hannity's television show – a story about a sharp spike in the unmasking of American citizens under Barack Obama.
He pulled into his driveway.
A government vehicle was parked at his mailbox with its flashers on.
Two men got out.
Solomon's first thought was that he was being arrested.
He wasn't.
"You're at the tip of a very large iceberg," one of the men told him, "and we hope you drill into it."
The men identified themselves only as intelligence community insiders.
They couldn't tell Solomon what they knew – it was classified.
But they told him enough: there was, in their exact words, "an incredible political dirty trick" being carried out using "the most awesome powers of the Intelligence Community."
They told him to keep digging.
And then they got back in their car and drove away.

That encounter – which Solomon recounted this week on the Hang Out with Sean Hannity podcast alongside legal analyst Gregg Jarrett – wasn't a rumor or a theory.
It was a warning from people inside the government, at personal risk, about something they believed the American public deserved to know.
How Obama's FISA Abuse Built the Trap for Trump
The unmasking story Solomon had reported that night wasn't just a civil liberties oddity.
In the final year of the Obama administration, the unmasking of American citizens spiked 200 to 300 percent.
UN Ambassador Samantha Power alone made hundreds of unmasking requests.
Power would later testify before Congress that many requests made in her name were actually made by others – which raises a question nobody ever properly answered: if Power didn't make those requests, who did, and why were they using her credentials to do it?
Meanwhile, the FBI was building a FISA warrant application against Carter Page – a Trump campaign adviser – on the foundation of an unverified dossier paid for by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
The Department of Justice Inspector General's own 2019 report confirmed the FBI made 17 significant inaccuracies and omissions across the four Carter Page FISA warrant applications.

An FBI lawyer named Kevin Clinesmith literally altered a CIA email to claim Page was "not a source" for the agency – when the CIA had specifically told the FBI the opposite.
Clinesmith pleaded guilty.
He received probation.
Comey Subpoenaed and Brennan in the Crosshairs as Florida Grand Jury Moves In
Jarrett broke down the legal framework on the podcast: career prosecutors in Florida are now positioned to do what no one has done before – hold the architects of this operation accountable.
A federal grand jury began sitting in Fort Pierce, Florida, in January 2026.
Attorney General Pam Bondi directed prosecutors to open the grand jury investigation in August 2025, after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard released declassified documents she described as evidence of a "treasonous conspiracy" against Trump.
The targets include former CIA Director John Brennan – who CIA Director John Ratcliffe referred to the FBI for criminal prosecution – and former FBI Director James Comey.
The specific legal hook: 18 U.S.C. § 241, conspiracy to interfere with federally protected rights.
That law was written to put people in prison for coordinated abuse of power.

If prosecutors can prove that intelligence officials weaponized surveillance against a presidential campaign – not through incompetence, but through deliberate design – that is not a policy dispute.
That is a federal crime.
The Steele Dossier Lie That Walked Free Is Finally Catching Up
The men who showed up in Solomon's driveway in 2017 weren't panicking about a policy disagreement.
They were intelligence professionals who watched their own agencies get turned into political weapons – and they wanted someone to document it before the evidence disappeared.
For eight years, that evidence was buried, redacted, leaked selectively, and explained away as gross incompetence by the same institutions that did the burying.
Hillary Clinton's campaign funded the Steele dossier.
The dossier pushed the FISA warrant application "over the line," in the FBI's own words.
The FBI knew Steele had a political deadline – get the dirt out before Election Day – and used his material anyway.
The one person who pleaded guilty walked away with probation.
Solomon spent nine years following the trail those men laid out.
The question isn't whether the plot existed.
The question is whether anyone is finally going to prison for it.
