President-elect Donald Trump tapped former Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) as his nominee for Director of National Intelligence (DNI).
Gabbard would oversee all of the federal intelligence agencies and have the opportunity to make much-needed reforms.
She became a top surrogate for Trump on the campaign trail this year and switched from being an independent to a Republican.
The Republican establishment in the Senate and the national security apparatus has made it clear they oppose her nomination.
Gabbard believes in Trump’s America First foreign policy and wants the intelligence agencies to respect the Constitution.
The Republican establishment in the Senate wants to continue to fund the war in Ukraine indefinitely.
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson put the Republican establishment on notice during a speech at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest.
He said any Republican who opposes Gabbard’s confirmation is an “enemy of the United States.”
“She is the critical appointment because she has the ability to declassify the truth about what your government has been doing in your name with your money for decades. No one doubts that Tulsi Gabbard’s a patriotic person. She’s an army officer,” Carlson explained. “She served in the U.S. military for 20 years . . . By the way, if she was a foreign agent, how exactly is she carrying a gun in the U.S. military? It’s absurd. You will know who’s on which side by the reaction to Tulsi Gabbard.”
Gabbard has faced baseless smears from Democrats that she’s a Russian agent and someone who can’t be trusted with a security clearance.
She deployed to Iraq during the insurgency as a member of the National Guard and currently serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Army Reserves.
The Swamp is opposing Tulsi Gabbard’s nomination
Carlson told the crowd the only reason to oppose Gabbard was to keep the status quo going in the Washington, D.C. Swamp.
“If there are Republican senators who are voting against Tulsi Gabbard’s confirmation,” Carlson said. “Either in the Intel Committee or in the open Senate, you will know that person is not only my enemy as someone who voted for change, for openness, for transparency, for an end to corruption, for a draining of the swamp, you know that person is an enemy of the United States. Period.”
Trump tapped Gabbard for the DNI role because she would be a change agent.
“It’s really that simple,” Carlson declared. “And you will get the same story: ‘Oh, it’s national security. We can’t let our enemies know. We can’t trust Tulsi Gabbard.’ No, we can’t trust you actually. This is going to take place in the open, assuming we get that far.”
The RINO traitors in the Senate want to sink her nomination before the confirmation process begins so they can avoid going on the record publicly opposing Donald Trump.
