The CIA spied on its own investigators while they hunted for the truth about COVID-19.
Now the woman who uncovered that surveillance is leaving the government in three weeks.
What she releases before June 30 is the last chance Americans get to know what really happened.
The Cover-Up Inside the Cover-Up
CIA whistleblower James Erdman III sat before the Senate Homeland Security Committee last month and said out loud what millions of Americans already believed.
Fauci's allies inside the intelligence community killed the lab-leak investigation from the inside.
Erdman – a two-decade CIA veteran and one of the first members of Gabbard's COVID origins task force – told senators that CIA management suppressed its own analysts' conclusions that COVID came from the Wuhan lab.
When those analysts refused to change their findings, the CIA retaliated against them.
When Erdman's investigators started closing in, the CIA surveilled their phones and computers.

Erdman told the committee that Americans were being surveilled without legal authority while carrying out work the President had ordered.
Not one single Senate Democrat showed up to hear it.
Erdman also told senators something that should make every American's blood boil.
Fauci – whose National Institutes of Health sent money to the Wuhan lab for coronavirus engineering research – personally connected the intelligence community to handpicked scientists to steer analysts toward the natural-origin conclusion.
Erdman reviewed thousands of pages of classified material that Biden's intelligence chief Avril Haines never released after Congress unanimously passed a law demanding it.
Haines released a brief summary report and called it compliance.
She buried the rest.
What Gabbard Found and What She's Racing to Release
Gabbard created the Director's Initiatives Group on April 8, 2025 – a special task force to dig into COVID origins and Havana Syndrome.
What his team found was ugly enough that the CIA fought back hard – withholding records, surveilling investigators, and retaliating against agency personnel who cooperated.

Now Gabbard is leaving the government on June 30 because her husband Abraham was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of bone cancer.
Before she goes, she is working to declassify everything her task force found about both COVID and the mysterious health attacks on American diplomats known as Havana Syndrome.
An ODNI official confirmed to the Daily Caller News Foundation that Gabbard is actively working to get it done before her last day.
The clock is ticking.
The Weapon Russia Doesn't Want You to Know About
Havana Syndrome started in 2016 when CIA officers stationed in Cuba began reporting crushing pressure in their heads, blurred vision, severe headaches, and cognitive damage.
It spread to American diplomats and intelligence officers in China, Europe, and beyond.
For years, the intelligence community officially told victims it was very unlikely caused by a foreign adversary.
What they didn't say out loud is that one intelligence agency assessed a roughly 50-50 chance that Russia built a novel weapon responsible for some of the attacks.
The Pentagon spent over a year testing a device it purchased in an undercover operation – a backpack-sized weapon whose vital components were made in Russia.
A 60 Minutes investigation in March 2026 described the weapon in detail: silent, concealable, programmable for different scenarios, operable by remote control, with a beam that can penetrate windows and drywall from hundreds of feet away.
Russian GRU Unit 29155 – the same unit that tried to assassinate Sergei Skripal in Britain – is the lead suspect in a joint investigation by 60 Minutes, Der Spiegel, and The Insider.

Americans who suffered brain damage in service to their country were told for years that it was probably stress.
The classified files Gabbard is racing to release may finally name who did it – and prove the government lied about knowing.
They Knew and They Said Nothing
The pattern here is not complicated.
Biden's team knew the lab-leak evidence was real, buried it, and called Congress's demand for transparency a summary report.
Biden's team knew the Havana Syndrome evidence was pointing at Russia, buried it, and told victims their symptoms were probably psychosomatic.
In both cases, telling the truth would have meant confronting adversaries the Biden administration was determined to appease.
In both cases, Americans – diplomats, intelligence officers, ordinary citizens who just wanted to know where a virus that killed over a million of them actually came from – paid the price.
Gabbard built the task force, found the documents, and now has 21 days to make sure the American people see what was hidden from them.
The CIA is still fighting her – as of Erdman's May testimony, ODNI still had not received all responsive documents from the agency.
If those files get buried again after June 30, they may stay buried.
