J.D. Vance has become a rising star after joining Donald Trump on the GOP ticket.

But not everyone is happy he got the Vice Presidential slot.

And Tucker Carlson revealed one secret about J.D. Vance the establishment will hate.

Tucker Carlson gives the inside scoop on J.D. Vance

U.S. Senator J.D. Vance (R-OH) has been one of the breakout stars of this election after former President Donald Trump tapped him as his running mate.

Vance has been the face of the campaign in the mainstream media and developed a reputation for sparring with journalists.

He’s become an articulate messenger for Trump’s America First agenda and the heir apparent to carry it forward.

Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson appeared on The Megyn Kelly Show where he discussed the behind-the-scenes jockeying to become Trump’s running mate.

Carlson said that he was friends with “basically zero” politicians except for Vance.

He called Vance “a normal, really smart guy” who “understands that our foreign policy is complicated . . . [and that] what we’ve done abroad over the past 20 years has not helped the United States or anybody else.”

The battle to become Donald Trump’s running mate

Carlson and Donald Trump, Jr. were two of the loudest voices pushing Vance during the sweepstakes to become Trump’s running mate.

The Republican establishment was firmly opposed to Vance and donors tried to pressure Trump not to pick him.

“I cannot overstate how much donors just dislike J.D. Vance,” Carlson explained. “He was chosen on the Monday of the Republican Convention and, up until that moment, Trump was getting calls from his biggest donors saying, ‘Don’t do this.’”

Members of the establishment in Congress were trying to keep Vance off the ticket.

“Lindsey Graham, that morning, was telling Trump that J.D. Vance was evil,” Carlson said. “The second he picked J.D. Vance, there was Lindsey Graham on Twitter saying, ‘Oh, my old friend J.D. Vance. I’m thrilled that he got the nod.’”

Carlson called out Graham on social media for being two-faced after the pick came in.

The former Fox News host praised Trump for standing up to the pressure and picking Vance.

Fox News founder Rupert Murdoch was pushing anyone but Vance to Trump all the way to the end.

“It was in defiance of his biggest donors and many of his allies, which was an act of bravery for which he should get credit,” Carlson stated.

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz attacked Vance for being “weird,” which was something that Carlson found to be absurd.

“You know who is weird?” Carlson asked. “Tim Walz. I am not going to go on about it, but that guy is weird. Let’s be real.”

Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly pointed out that Walz has some flamboyant body language when he’s campaigning.

“Tim Walz has got, I mean, talk about not having control over one’s emotions or one’s body,” Kelly said. “I’m just going to say: I don’t know any man who behaves like that.”

“Come on!” Carlson said with a grin. “I mean, come on. It’s so, it’s so — I’m just trying to control myself because I, you know, I don’t want to be mean and also I don’t want to say things I can’t prove, but like, let’s, let’s be real.”

“Let me just say, not connected necessarily to Tim Walz, I’m never going to take another lecture about gay rights from these people. Like, ‘Oh, you hate gays and you keep them all in the closet or whatever.’ Any party — you know, stop with the, with the lectures about that stuff. Do you know what I mean?” Carlson continued.
