President Trump’s commitment to America’s Veterans just reached new heights.
His revitalized Department of Veterans Affairs isn’t wasting any time making good on promises.
And Trump’s VA honors America’s heroes with one stunning change that had Democrats red with rage.
Trump’s VA expands memorials for Veterans buried overseas
The Department of Veterans Affairs announced a major expansion to its Veterans Legacy Memorial website, adding 210,000 pages for American Veterans buried or honored in overseas cemeteries managed by the American Battle Monuments Commission.
This decisive action brings the total number of memorial pages to over 10 million, making it the nation’s largest online memorial space dedicated to honoring those who served.
“The brave Americans resting in American Battle Monuments Commission cemeteries and whose names are inscribed on ABMC memorials around the world sacrificed their lives to liberate allied countries and to protect our nation’s interests,” said Acting Under Secretary for Memorial Affairs Ronald Walters. “It’s our honor to preserve their legacies.”
The VLM website allows families and friends to share lasting memories of their loved ones by uploading written tributes, photos, biographies, and other documents – ensuring that their sacrifices are never forgotten.
Trump administration prioritizes Veterans unlike Biden-Harris
This expansion comes just months after President Trump took office, showing his administration’s commitment to honoring Veterans in stark contrast to the previous administration’s failures.
The last four years saw plenty of empty promises from Biden and Harris about helping our heroes. Meanwhile, Trump’s team is already delivering real results just months after taking office. Thanks to this expansion, the graves of nearly 31,000 WWI Veterans, almost 93,000 WWII Veterans, and 750 brave souls from the Mexican American War won’t be forgotten, even though they rest far from home.
The American Battle Monuments Commission has been administering these overseas cemeteries since 1934 when President Franklin Roosevelt issued an executive order transferring responsibility from the War Department.
Trump’s quick action on this expansion demonstrates his America First priorities extend to honoring those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, regardless of where they rest.
Democrats sidelined Veterans while pushing DEI initiatives
While the Biden-Harris administration spent four years pushing woke DEI policies throughout the federal government, including the VA, the Trump administration has wasted no time redirecting focus back to what matters – Veterans and their families.
Since taking office, President Trump has made it clear that Veterans issues are a top priority. One of his first executive orders terminated “diversity, equity, and inclusion” discrimination in the federal workforce, allowing agencies like the VA to focus on their core missions instead of woke ideology.
The VLM website first launched in 2019 during Trump’s first term, and since then, nearly 200,000 submissions have been made to Veteran profile pages. Each submission is reviewed by moderators to ensure it conforms to user policy standards.
“We are proud to be a part of this partnership, which adds new resources to honor our nations veterans from all wars and brings their stories to those who aren’t able to visit our ABMC sites overseas,” said ABMC Acting Secretary Robert Dalessandro.
The expansion also allows Veterans who have been approved for pre-need burial in a VA National Cemetery to tell their own stories through the “Your Life, Your Story” feature – putting them in control of their own legacy.
This decisive action by the Trump administration serves as a reminder of what can be accomplished when the government focuses on honoring American traditions and values rather than dismantling them.
