Obama's people never really went away.
They burrowed into law firms, university boards, corporate boardrooms, and streaming giants – and now one of Barack Obama's most loyal lieutenants just told every company in America exactly what Democrats plan to do the moment they get power back.
Susan Rice went on Preet Bharara's podcast last Thursday and dropped a threat so naked that even Trump couldn't ignore it.
Susan Rice Promises an "Accountability Agenda" — and Subpoenas
Rice didn't hide it.
"Whether you're a law firm, whether you're a university, whether you're a media entity, whether you're a big corporation, whether you're big tech," she said, "there will be an accountability agenda."
Companies had better start preserving their documents, she warned. Subpoenas are coming. And this wouldn't be "forgive and forget."
What's the crime that earned a spot on Rice's list? Working with the duly elected President of the United States.
Complying with legal executive orders. Settling lawsuits to protect shareholders. Showing up at the White House when the president called. These are the offenses that will trigger Rice's promised investigations.
Rep. Derrick Van Orden called it what it is – communism wrapped in polite language.
Trump Demands Netflix Fire Susan Rice — or the Warner Bros Merger Dies
Trump saw the clip Saturday and did what Trump does.
"Netflix should fire racist, Trump Deranged Susan Rice, IMMEDIATELY, or pay the consequences," he posted on Truth Social. "She's got no talent or skills – Purely a political hack! HER POWER IS GONE, AND WILL NEVER BE BACK."
Rice sits on Netflix's board – the same Netflix currently trying to close an $83 billion deal to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery's studios and streaming businesses.
That deal requires federal regulatory approval.
Trump had told NBC just weeks earlier that he "shouldn't be involved" in the Netflix-Warner merger. His Saturday post made clear that calculus just changed.
Netflix's co-CEO Ted Sarandos reportedly met with Trump before the deal was announced. Now the company is caught between a board member threatening the administration and a president who controls whether their merger lives or dies.
Rice is also deeply connected to the Obamas, whose Higher Ground production company has a deal with Netflix – meaning a Rice-aligned Netflix absorbing Warner Bros. would hand the Obama network enormous reach into American living rooms.
This Is What They've Always Planned
Here's what Rice just confirmed: everything conservatives suspected about the Democratic Party's relationship with corporate America is true.
It was never about principles. It was always about power.
Nixon got destroyed for keeping a secret enemies list. Rice just announced hers on a podcast and dared anyone to say something about it.
The message to every CEO in America is blunt: we know what you did, we're keeping records, and when we're back in charge, you'll answer for it.
Companies that cut DEI programs got savaged by Rice's allies in the press. Companies that settled Trump lawsuits got called cowards. Companies that showed up for White House meetings got catalogued.
Rice told them the bill is coming due.
Trump just reminded her that the bill works both ways – and Netflix's $83 billion deal is sitting on a federal desk waiting for a signature.
