Trump just turned California's worst nightmare into reality.
The President who vowed to secure America's borders isn't backing down despite two court defeats.
And Trump just gave sanctuary cities the deadline Democrats never saw coming.
Trump Announces Federal Funding Cuts Starting February 1st
Trump announced Tuesday during a Detroit Economic Club speech that starting February 1st, federal funding stops for any sanctuary city or state harboring them.
Democrat judges handed him two losses but Trump's done playing games with mayors protecting criminal illegal aliens over American citizens.
"Starting February 1, we're not making any payments to sanctuary cities or states having sanctuary cities, because they do everything possible to protect criminals at the expense of American citizens and it breeds fraud and crime and all of the other problems that come," Trump declared.
The Department of Justice already published a list of 36 states, cities, and counties considered sanctuary jurisdictions.
California, Connecticut, and New York top the list along with cities like Boston and Chicago that rolled out the welcome mat for illegal aliens.
Trump's expanding beyond just cities this time to choke off entire states that allow sanctuary policies anywhere within their borders.
Democrats screamed about Trump's 2017 funding freeze until a California judge shut it down claiming the administration hadn't taken specific action yet.
But Trump learned from that defeat and spent his second term building an airtight legal case.
He's already suspended 8,000 Small Business Administration loans to suspected scammers in Minnesota where Democrat Governor Tim Walz let billions in welfare fraud flourish.
Prosecutors charged dozens involved in stealing 240 million dollars through a fake child nutrition nonprofit called Feeding Our Future.
House Republicans estimate the total fraud under Walz could reach 9 billion dollars across multiple programs.
House Oversight Chairman James Comer launched investigations showing Minnesota officials knew about the fraud since 2019 but refused to act because the perpetrators formed a powerful Democrat voting block.
That's what sanctuary policies get you: billions stolen, Americans endangered, and Democrats protecting the criminals doing it.
Democrat Judges Keep Protecting Sanctuary Policies
Trump's funding cuts failed twice when California federal judges blocked them.
A California federal judge blocked his first-term effort in 2017 claiming Trump moved too early before taking specific action.
Then last year another California judge struck down Trump's executive order directing officials to withhold money from sanctuary jurisdictions.
The pattern is clear: California judges protecting California's sanctuary policies no matter what evidence Trump presents.
But here's what Democrats celebrating those victories don't understand.
Trump now has Attorney General Pam Bondi running the Department of Justice with orders to pursue every legal avenue.
The administration already froze SNAP benefits for states refusing to provide recipient data and halted daycare subsidies to five Democrat-led states over fraud concerns.
Courts put some freezes on hold but the strategy is working: apply maximum financial pressure while building comprehensive fraud cases.
Minnesota proves Trump's point about sanctuary policies breeding corruption.
Walz's administration let welfare scams metastasize across child nutrition, daycare, healthcare, housing, and autism programs.
Federal investigators traced stolen funds flowing overseas to terrorist organizations including Al-Shabaab and ISIS.
State whistleblowers testified that Walz's Department of Human Services deleted data and backdated documents to cover up the theft.
The House Oversight Committee hearing exposed how Walz knew about the fraud from day one in 2018 but did nothing because the Somali community voted Democrat.
That's the sanctuary city model: protect illegal aliens and criminals, ignore the law, and let American taxpayers fund the whole corrupt operation.
Sanctuary Cities Face Billions In Federal Funding Cuts
San Francisco could lose more than 800 million dollars in federal support for one of its leading hospitals.
Minneapolis faces cuts to youth violence and sexual assault prevention programs funded by the Department of Justice.
The coalition of sanctuary cities suing Trump claims the funding cuts would remove over 10 billion dollars from their budgets.
Democrats argue sanctuary policies make communities safer by encouraging illegal aliens to report crimes without fear of deportation.
That's garbage and the data proves it.
Research shows sanctuary counties experience lower crime rates than counties cooperating with ICE but that's because illegal alien criminals don't get deported so they don't show up in the statistics.
When ICE can't remove criminal illegal aliens they commit more crimes in the community.
Federal prosecutors are investigating and charging hundreds involved in Minnesota's welfare fraud with more charges coming as investigators follow the money trail overseas.
Trump suspended the SBA loans and froze other funding to Minnesota specifically because Walz's sanctuary-style policies let the fraud metastasize.
The President made clear he's done tolerating Democrat governors and mayors who think they can defy federal immigration law while collecting federal tax dollars.
"Who would bill the federal government as people poured into the state to send those people back because no country can afford to do it?" Trump asked.
No country can afford to take in millions of illegal aliens, pay for their education, healthcare, and hospitals while they commit crimes and steal billions in welfare fraud.
California and the other sanctuary states have three weeks to figure out how they'll function without federal money.
Trump just called their bluff and February 1st is coming fast.
