Now – 46 years to the day later – Team USA just did it again.

A growing number of Democrats have already announced they won't attend Trump's State of the Union on Tuesday.
Some will sit in "silent defiance." Others won't show up at all.
That means when these gold medalists walk into the House chamber – men who played through broken teeth and a 41-save performance and carried Johnny Gaudreau's jersey around the ice for a teammate killed by a drunk driver – Democrats will be staring at their shoes or watching from home.

Democrats walked out in 2025.
This time the question is simple: Can you not stand up for the gold medal team?
For far too many of them, the answer will be no.
