The DNC just made abolishing ICE official party policy.
Now a Florida Senate candidate is telling Black voters that ICE agents will shoot them in the streets.
Tom Homan had four words for Democrat Angie Nixon that ended the conversation.
The Claim That Crossed a Line
Angie Nixon – the Democratic Socialist who just shocked Florida by winning the Senate primary – went on a podcast and told listeners that ICE agents cannot tell the difference between black Americans and illegal immigrants from Jamaica or Nigeria.
Then she went further.
"They are going to racially profile us," Nixon said, "and they are going to escalate things, and they are going to shoot and kill us."
Not a policy critique.
Not a call for reform.
A direct claim that federal immigration agents are hunting black Americans.
Homan's response was four words: "That's a ridiculous statement."

Then he explained exactly why.
"We don't racially profile. Everybody we talk to, we have reasonable suspicion of aliens to talk to them and to arrest them we need probable cause. That's what the law says. And that's what we do."
He wasn't finished.
"We don't arrest people based on the color of their skin,” he said. “I'm actually an equal opportunity deporter. I deported people to 180 countries last year. I don't care if you're from Asia, you're from Europe, or you're from other countries. If you're in the country illegally, you will be deported, regardless of the color of your skin."
The Pattern Behind the Rhetoric
This is not the first time Democrats have tried to weaponize race against ICE enforcement.
In 2018, when Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won her primary on an "Abolish ICE" platform, she went on CNN the next morning and accused the agency of running "black sites" at the border.
In 2019, Bernie Sanders called ICE "a deportation and detention machine."
In 2020, the same crowd backed away from the rhetoric when voters made clear they wanted border enforcement.
Then Trump won in 2024.
Now Nixon is running the 2018 playbook in 2026 – except she's escalated it into something darker.
Calling ICE a "weaponized paramilitary force designed to terrorize us" is a political attack.

Telling Black voters ICE will shoot them on sight is something else.
The Department of Homeland Security called Nixon's comments "disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE" – adding that immigration status, not race, determines enforcement targets.
Nixon has also referred to ICE agents as "THUGS" and "kidnappers," compared detention facilities to "modern day concentration camps," and praised Assata Shakur – a convicted cop killer on the FBI's Most Wanted Terrorist list – while campaigning.
She won the Democrat primary anyway.
Nixon Wants to Abolish the Agents Who Made That Arrest
Her campaign website calls it a "moral choice."
Here is what that moral choice looks like on the ground.
ICE arrested a Jamaican national charged with stabbing two Burger King employees in Panama City Beach days before Nixon's primary win.
That arrest – the kind Nixon calls "state-sanctioned violence" – is the agency doing exactly what it exists to do.

When local governments refuse to hand illegal aliens over to ICE, agents are forced out of the safety of jails and into neighborhoods to make the same arrests.
"What sanctuary cities do is not only give sanctuaries to criminals," Homan said, "it makes the community less safe because they're releasing public safety threats back into the public."
Nixon is running in Florida – a state where hundreds of thousands of families fled Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua to get away from exactly the kind of government she's selling.
She beat Alex Vindman by 12 points anyway.
Ilhan Omar is celebrating.
Bernie Sanders is celebrating.
Florida voters have until November to decide whether they agree.
