Charlie Kirk was assassinated seven months ago.
Now someone is threatening his widow for showing up to a college campus.
Erika Kirk had to cancel her own appearance at the Turning Point USA event in Athens, Georgia on Tuesday – and she didn't want to.
JD Vance Defended Charlie Kirk's Widow From the Stage
JD Vance was on that stage Tuesday night at the University of Georgia.
He told reporters he had been worried the entire event might get canceled and personally spoke with the Secret Service beforehand.
When asked about Erika's absence, Vance didn't hedge.

He said he told her to "do what she needs to do for her and her family."
Then he went further.
He looked at that crowd and said the people claiming Erika wasn't grieving her husband are "full of s**t."
His words.
"I was there with her. I was holding her hand. My wife was hugging her while we loaded Charlie's body onto Air Force Two and said the Lord's Prayer."
A Turning Point USA official told the Daily Wire that security had been monitoring threats to Kirk in the days leading up to the event – that people were doxxing her travel location and trying to track her arrival and departure, with multiple direct threats against her specifically.
The official put it plainly: "Her children are one parent away from being orphans, and so we take security's assessments and advice seriously."
Erika posted about it on X, writing that after "all our family has been through," she takes her security team's recommendations "extremely seriously."
Turning Point USA spokesman Andrew Kolvet confirmed they were "very serious threats in her direction."
Officials have not released additional details.

The Turning Point USA Tour Keeps Going Despite Threats
Charlie Kirk was shot dead at a campus event seven months ago.
Now his widow can't travel to a college campus without being doxxed and threatened into staying home.
This is not a coincidence.
This is a pattern.
The same political climate that produced Kirk's assassination is producing threats against his widow.
The same campuses that spent years celebrating political violence as "resistance" are now the venues where conservative leaders can't safely appear.
Nobody in mainstream media is connecting these dots.
They covered Charlie's death as a tragedy, held the moment for exactly as long as required, and moved on.
They will cover Tuesday night as a minor security story and move on again.
What they won't say is that a widow can't walk onto a stage without being threatened – because saying it out loud means admitting who's doing the threatening.
Trump called Charlie Kirk a "martyr for American freedom."
He was right.
And the people who made him one are still working.
What Erika Kirk Represents Now
She accepted Charlie's posthumous Medal of Freedom at the White House in October.
She was Trump's guest at the State of the Union.
She was unanimously elected CEO and chair of the board of Turning Point USA in September.
This woman took her husband's murder and turned it into a mandate.
She didn't disappear.
She didn't go quiet.
She stepped into the most visible role in the conservative youth movement and said she was going to keep building what Charlie built.
That is exactly why she's being threatened.
The left doesn't threaten people they've already beaten.
They threaten people who scare them.
Erika Kirk scares them.
And JD Vance standing on that stage Tuesday night – still there, still speaking, still filling a room Charlie Kirk used to fill – sent the only answer that matters.
You didn't finish anything.
