Jamie Raskin just tried to resurrect a dead case and got destroyed for it.
The White House called him a Democrat with zero credibility still clinging to Jack Smith's lies.
Now the documents Bondi's own DOJ accidentally released are being used as a weapon against the president she works for.
Raskin's Backfire
Democrats have been obsessed with Jack Smith's sealed classified documents report for two years.
Raskin sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi on March 24 demanding she hand over the full investigative file – the one Judge Aileen Cannon permanently sealed.
But here's what actually happened.
The DOJ sent Congress a batch of records on March 13 as part of the House Judiciary Committee's investigation into the FBI's "Arctic Frost" probe – the operation targeting Trump's allies over the 2020 election.
That batch accidentally included a January 2023 Smith office memo summarizing both the classified documents case and the election interference case.
"Apparently blinded by the frenzied search to find any scrap of evidence," Raskin wrote to Bondi, "you have, quite amazingly, missed the fact that some of the documents you provided include damning evidence about your boss's conduct."
The White House wasn't impressed.
"Democrats with zero credibility like Jamie Raskin are still clinging to deranged Jack Smith and his lies in 2026," White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson said.
Karoline Leavitt was even blunter at Wednesday's press conference – calling Raskin's letter "a cheap political stunt."

She added that the claims in Smith's memo were so unverified they never made it into the actual indictment.
The Case That Died Twice
Every piece of this requires one critical piece of context Democrats desperately want you to forget.
Jack Smith was found to be unconstitutionally appointed.
Judge Cannon tossed the entire classified documents case in July 2024 after ruling that Merrick Garland had no legal authority to create Smith's position in the first place.
Smith appealed – and then dropped his appeal entirely when Trump won the election in November 2024, citing the longstanding DOJ policy against prosecuting a sitting president.
That's the case Democrats want to keep fighting in 2026.
The DOJ fired back at Raskin directly: "Judge Cannon's protective order was not violated, and none of the documents produced by DOJ violated 6e grand jury rules."
The spokesperson went further – pointing out that Raskin is a lawyer and a law professor who almost certainly understands this, which means the letter was exactly what it looked like: a political performance.
This Is What Democrats Do
You've seen this before.
Clinton's national security adviser Sandy Berger literally stuffed classified documents into his pants and socks at the National Archives in 2003, then cut them up with scissors at his Washington office.
He got probation and a fine.
Hillary Clinton ran classified emails through a personal server in her basement for years.
The FBI found evidence of extreme carelessness and recommended no charges.
Biden had classified documents in his garage and his China-funded think tank office.
No spectacular FBI raid.
No SWAT teams photographing documents next to golf shoes.

Democrats have never once applied the same standard to themselves that they demanded of Trump.
Now Raskin – who has been waving the Jack Smith banner since 2022 – is trying to turn a Smith progress memo into a scandal.
The DOJ put it plainly: Smith's team "was desperate to prosecute Biden's top political opponent, so it is no surprise that his files contain salacious and untrue claims about President Trump."
Raskin set a deadline of March 31 for Bondi to answer his questions and April 14 to hand over the full file.
Bondi isn't going to comply.
Trump won. The case was thrown out. The special counsel was declared unconstitutional.
The voters already delivered their verdict on this in November 2024 – 80 million of them.
