CNN spent three days warning the storm was coming.
Now Dana White is on camera saying he still cannot explain what happened next.
But the storm split in two and went around the UFC 250 White House event.
What the Forecasters Promised Would Happen
The Weather Channel called it a “chaotic weather setup.”
A 71 percent chance of thunderstorms at 8 p.m. – exactly when the main card was scheduled to start. Severe storms. Downpours. Wind gusts to 34 miles per hour. Hail.
Meteorologists openly floated the possibility of a tornado.
CNN ran a full story on how the Claw – the nearly 100-foot metal lighting grid holding the arena together – could act as a giant lightning rod in a direct hit.
Any lightning within eight miles of the South Lawn triggered an automatic 30-minute evacuation.
Every additional strike added another 30.

One bad cell at the wrong moment and the whole night collapses – 85,000 fans at the Ellipse sent home, 34 million global viewers watching a dark octagon, and every reporter who spent weeks hoping this would fail getting the headline they had already written.
The White House Rapid Response account called the Weather Channel’s forecast “bullshit clickbait.”
What happened next proved them right.
The Storm That Split in Half
The Fox Nation documentary UFC Fight House: The Making of the Biggest Fight in History captures Dana White describing what the radar showed in real time.
“Literally, the storm is coming to hit the White House and it breaks apart and goes around the White House and the Ellipse and continues on,” White said. “It’s incredible, unbelievable, and it was an amazing night.”
Trump’s read on it was more direct.
White confirmed the president called it divine intervention.
That is not a hard call to understand when you look at the MyRadar forecasts posted to Facebook just hours before the fights.
Storms and high winds at 8:30 p.m. A downpour with possible lightning after 9.

The system was tracking directly toward the event.
And then it wasn’t.
The storm split. It went around the White House. It went around the Ellipse.
It kept going.
All seven bouts ended in finishes.
Justin Gaethje pulled off one of the biggest upsets in UFC history, taking the lightweight title from the previously undefeated Ilia Topuria.
The event drew 34 million viewers worldwide – the biggest domestic audience in UFC history.
Dana White Is Not the Praying Type
White is not someone who talks like a pastor.
He runs a combat sports empire worth billions and spent decades building it by being blunt, direct, and allergic to anything that sounds soft.
Which is exactly why what he said in the Fox Nation documentary stopped people cold.
“God, Mother Nature, whatever you want to call it, those clouds splitting and going around us – listen, I don’t know how to describe it, but it was pretty d*** awesome.”
That is a man searching for words to describe something that does not fit his normal vocabulary.
He built a stadium on the South Lawn of the White House.
He pulled off nine months of planning with Trump pushing him harder every week – Trump told event producer Craig Borsari he wanted 7,000 to 8,000 seats, called the initial numbers “terrible,” and kept pushing until the team reached 4,300.

He watched military jets fly over 85,000 fans at the Ellipse.
And the thing that left him speechless was the weather.
The Left sat back and waited for the storm to do what they spent months hoping someone would do.
It went around instead.
Benjamin Franklin told the Constitutional Convention in 1787 that God governs in the affairs of men. Dana White – who has seen everything combat sports has to offer – watched a severe thunderstorm part around the White House lawn and came up empty for a better explanation.
Some nights, the script just cannot be beat.
