Swift and Kelce are officially engaged after garden proposal
The pop superstar and Kansas City Chiefs tight end announced their engagement on Tuesday with a joint Instagram post that broke the internet.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift wrote in the caption alongside stunning photos from their romantic garden proposal.
Both 35, the couple looked radiant in the engagement photos showing Kelce down on one knee surrounded by beautiful flowers.
The proposal featured an Old Mine Brilliant Cut ring that sparkled as bright as Swift’s smile in the announcement photos.
Their love story began in July 2023 when Kelce attended Swift’s Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium.
The NFL star later revealed on his podcast that he tried to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number but couldn’t get backstage to meet her.
“I was a little butthurt that I didn’t get to hand her one of the bracelets I made for her,” Kelce admitted at the time.
A few months later, Swift surprised everyone by showing up at a Chiefs game in September 2023.
She watched from Kelce’s suite alongside his mother Donna and was caught on camera cheering as he scored a touchdown.
The couple kept their early relationship private
Swift revealed in her Time Person of the Year interview that they had been dating privately before going public.
“We actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other,” she explained.
