Sunny Hostin borrowed against her home and drained her entire life savings just to have children.
Now the woman who calls Trump a racist, a xenophobe, and a misogynist on national television every single week just called his policies good.
And Whoopi Goldberg – sitting right next to her – could not get her to take it back.
What Hostin Actually Said on The View
The Trump administration announced a new rule Sunday expanding fertility benefits through the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, and Treasury – creating a category of limited coverage allowing employers to offer meaningful fertility benefits, including IVF drugs, to their employees.
For Hostin, it was personal.
She and her husband had no insurance and no family money – just a home his parents helped them buy, which they borrowed against completely to become parents.
"The fact that something like this is available, where you do have help with IVF, that you do have help with the IVF drugs, I think is a win," she said Monday on The View.
Then she went further.

"There's so much to criticize Donald Trump for – especially his racism and his xenophobia and his misogyny, yes – but these particular things where you have an account, a Trump account where your children can have $200,000 when they're 18 years old and the help with infertility, which is also a crisis in the country, I think you call a thing a thing and I think these are good policies."
Good policies.
On The View.
From Sunny Hostin.
Whoopi Tried to Push Back and Failed
Goldberg praised the fertility expansion but drew a hard line at the savings accounts.
"I will not give him this until he takes care of the kids from birth to 18 or 20," she said.
Hostin held her position anyway.
That matters more than it sounds.
Hostin has spent years as one of the loudest Trump critics on that show.
She had every social incentive to fold when Whoopi pushed back.

She didn't.
Alyssa Farah Griffin Put Numbers on It
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin – who served in the first Trump administration before becoming a public critic – went further than Hostin.
She opened a Trump Account for her newborn son the day he was born.
"The government matches $1,000," she said. "And if you were to contribute $5,000 a year – that's tax-free, tax deferred – Charles Schwab says at 18 it would have about $100,000 or almost $200,000 in it."
Griffin used IVF herself – five rounds and six figures out of pocket.
Then she checked TrumpRX.
"I paid ten times more than what it's now available for," she said.
Trump Accounts were created under the One Big Beautiful Bill signed July 4, 2025 – tax-deferred investment accounts for children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028, with a $1,000 federal seed contribution for eligible U.S. citizen children with valid Social Security numbers.
Griffin's bottom line: Trump gives plenty to criticize. This is not that.
This Is What Winning Actually Looks Like
Democrats built their entire brand around owning women's healthcare.
They ran on it.
They fundraised on it.

And now the man they call a misogynist just delivered a fertility benefit that moved Sunny Hostin – someone who has spent years calling him dangerous – to praise him on the most liberal daytime show on television.
That kind of credibility cannot be manufactured.
The IVF expansion and Trump Accounts aren't abstract policy wins buried in legislative language nobody reads.
They're things real women with real infertility struggles can point to.
They're things real parents can open an account for before their child leaves the hospital.
Democrats said Trump would destroy American families.
Sunny Hostin just told millions of daytime viewers he helped hers.
