Elizabeth Warren helped cause the worst inflation in 40 years.
Now she's trying to do it again.
And Scott Bessent just put her on blast – with her own words.
Warren Bragged About Sabotaging the Fed
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent revealed something remarkable this week.
In a 2025 conversation, Warren bragged to him about being the leading force behind the months-long delay of Jay Powell's renomination as Fed Chair.
Bessent told her exactly what that cost: her political maneuvering helped open the door to the Biden-era inflation crisis.
The worst America had seen since the 1970s.
During Biden's presidency, inflation peaked at 9.1% in June 2022 – the highest level in 40 years.
Warren didn't just watch that happen.
She helped engineer the conditions for it.
And then she bragged about it.
Democrats Have Been Running This Play for Years
This isn't the first time Democrats weaponized the Fed confirmation process.
In November 2020, then-Senator Kamala Harris left her transition work in Delaware and flew back to Washington specifically to cast the decisive vote blocking Judy Shelton, Trump's nominee to the Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

Harris's vote helped sink the nomination 47-50.
Shelton had advocated for tougher inflation controls and less Fed mission creep.
Democrats called her unfit.
Americans spent the next two years paying 9% inflation at the grocery store.
The pattern is always the same: block the nominee, claim independence is at stake, watch inflation run.
Warren has turned this into a career.
Now She's Running the Same Play on Warsh
Kevin Warsh is a 56-year-old former Fed governor who was in the room during the 2008 financial crisis – and spent the years afterward warning that the easy-money policies that followed had gone too far.
He resigned from the Fed in 2011 because he opposed the second round of quantitative easing, arguing the central bank was wading into fiscal decisions that belonged to elected officials.
That's the kind of institutional backbone Warren claims to want.
But she called him Trump's "sock puppet" anyway.
Warsh sat before the Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday and rejected that characterization under oath.
He pledged to run a Fed that answers to no president – not this one, not any future one.
Then Bessent stepped in with the label that will follow Warren into every future Fed fight: "Harvard Square inflationista."
Warsh has also proposed a new framework for how the Fed measures and targets inflation – pushing for a return to a strict 2% target and an overhaul of the unconventional tools the central bank has relied on since 2008.
Warren doesn't like that either.
She never does when someone at the Fed shows independence from her preferred politics.
The Same Senator, the Same Playbook, the Same Price
Here's what's actually happening.
Warren has spent three decades treating the Senate Banking Committee as a personal stage.
When a Republican president nominates someone to the Fed, she calls them unfit.
When inflation surges under Democratic policies, she blames the banks.
This time, Bessent has the receipts.
He was in the room.

He heard her brag about running the Powell delay – and he told her to her face what it cost ordinary Americans.
Now he's making sure the rest of the country hears it too.
The "Harvard Square inflationista" label will stick because it's earned.
Warren has never once evaluated a Fed nominee on qualifications alone.
She evaluates them on whether they're sufficiently hostile to the financial industry she's spent her career performing outrage at.
The last time she ran this play, families paid 9.1% at the checkout line.
Bessent is making sure this time the price tag comes with her name on it.
