Rosie ODonnell Liked a Post Calling Trump Voters Stupid and Called It Agreeing With MAGA

Jul 17, 2026

Rosie O'Donnell just announced she's done hating Donald Trump.

She made that announcement by liking a post about a man who said every person who voted for Trump is stupid.

Here's what Rosie's bombshell U-turn actually says about the people who sent Trump back to the White House.

What Rosie Actually Agreed With

Howard Stern went on his SiriusXM show and said it plainly: "I don't hate the guy. I hate the people who vote for him. I think they're stupid. I do. I'll be honest with you, I have no respect for you."

He wasn't complimenting Trump.

Rosie saw that post on Instagram – which framed Stern's remarks as him "admitting" he doesn't hate Trump – and she reposted it.

She liked it.

That's the U-turn.

Rosie O'Donnell publicly agreeing with a man who thinks you are stupid.

How a 2006 Press Conference Started a Twenty-Year War

It was December 2006.

Trump held a press conference announcing that Miss USA Tara Conner – caught up in an underage drinking and drug scandal – would keep her crown after entering rehab.

O'Donnell went on The View the next day and unloaded on him.

She said Trump had no right to be anyone's moral compass – a man who'd cheated on his wives and gone bankrupt.

Trump called her "a woman out of control."

She called him a "snake oil salesman."

What followed was nearly two decades of insults, social media brawls, and Trump wielding her name like a punchline.

At the 2015 Republican primary debate, Megyn Kelly asked Trump about calling women "fat pigs, dogs, slobs, and disgusting animals."

He looked at the camera and said: "Only Rosie O'Donnell."

The crowd gasped.

He won anyway.

She Packed Her Bags the Day Trump Won

When Trump won re-election in November 2024, Rosie O'Donnell didn't wait around.

She moved to Dublin in January 2025 – the same month Trump was inaugurated – with her teenage daughter.

"I knew after reading Project 2025 that if Trump got in, it was time for me and my nonbinary child to leave the country," she said.

She applied for Irish citizenship – her grandparents were born there – saying dual citizenship would protect her even if Trump managed to revoke her American passport.

Which is constitutionally impossible, but that's never stopped her from believing it.

Trump went on Truth Social twice to threaten exactly that, calling her "not in the best interests of our Great Country" and a "Threat to Humanity."

She called him "king joffrey with a tangerine spray tan."

Then at a White House visit from Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin, a reporter asked why Ireland would allow Rosie to move there.

Trump loved the question.

He asked Martin if he even knew who she was.

Martin brushed it off.

Trump said Martin was "better off not knowing."

A Woman Who Skipped Her Own Daughter's Graduation

Here's what the exile actually looked like.

O'Donnell skipped her daughter's college graduation in the United States because her security team advised against the trip.

They told her Trump would use her presence "to rile his base."

So she stayed in Dublin.

She slipped back into the country in early 2026 for two weeks – telling no one, quietly visiting her children – to see whether it was even safe for her to come home.

She said America "feels like a very different country" when she returned.

A woman who feels like a tourist in her own nation now wants credit for liking an Instagram post.

What This Actually Tells You

Howard Stern – another former Trump friend who went full anti-MAGA – finally said the quiet part loud.

He doesn't hate Trump.

He hates you.

And Rosie reposted it and called it an agreement.

This is what the left's "tolerance" has always looked like underneath the speechmaking.

They don't hate Trump.

They just think his voters are stupid, undeserving of respect, and better off kept quiet.

Rosie O'Donnell didn't have a change of heart.

She just found a cleaner way to say what she's always believed.
