Rosie O’Donnell Is Calling Donald Trump Mediocre From a New York Apartment

Jun 26, 2026

Rosie O’Donnell is calling Trump mediocre from New York – the city she swore she fled.

She announced her exile to Ireland in January 2025 and has been back three times.

Now she is sitting in Manhattan recording rants about the man she crossed an ocean to escape.

The Woman Who Never Actually Left

O’Donnell made international headlines when she packed up and moved to Ireland just before Trump’s second inauguration, vowing to stay away until America was “safe for all citizens to have equal rights.”

She quietly returned in February 2026 to see family.

Then she showed up at the Tony Awards in June.

And now, by her own admission during a recent interview with author Marianne Williamson, she is living in New York.

“Right now, I’m in New York,” O’Donnell confirmed on camera. “But I have moved to Ireland.”

She has moved to Ireland the same way you move on from an ex – by texting them every day.

In that same interview, O’Donnell declared Trump “one of the most mediocre men ever in public office” and insisted he must be removed from power – all while announcing she moved abroad to escape the “stress and anxiety” of following him, does not watch the news, and wants no part of his “constant barrage.”

She said all of this while sitting in New York, posting TikTok rants about Trump, and conducting interviews about Trump with a former Democratic presidential candidate.

Twenty Years and Still Showing Up

The O’Donnell – Trump feud started in 2006 when she mocked him on The View for being lenient with a Miss USA winner caught up in a drug scandal. Trump responded by calling her a “real loser.”

Things escalated from there.

Trump famously invoked her at the first 2015 Republican primary debate.

When moderator Megyn Kelly asked about calling women “fat pigs” and “disgusting animals,” Trump’s response was “only Rosie O’Donnell” – which brought down the house.

In July 2025, Trump threatened to revoke her citizenship on Truth Social, writing that O’Donnell “is not in the best interests of our Great Country.”

The White House’s response was brief. “Rosie’s unhinged rants are a symptom of late stage TDS,” said spokeswoman Abigail Jackson. “She’s way too far gone.”

The Obsession She Cannot Name

The contradiction at the center of O’Donnell’s public life is this: she claims Trump is a mediocre man not worth her attention – and she has spent 20 years proving the opposite.

She fled the country over him.

She kept posting.

She sat down with Marianne Williamson to predict that Trump will manufacture an “assassination attempt or a terrorist bombing” to cancel this year’s midterms – a claim so unhinged it would get someone removed from jury duty.

A woman who genuinely believed her opponent was mediocre would stop talking about him.

O’Donnell has been talking about Donald Trump since George W. Bush was in office.

She moved to another country and kept talking.

She came back to his city and kept talking.

That is not what dismissal looks like.

That is what a 20-year fixation looks like – and the man she cannot stop discussing just won his second term.
