The Washington, D.C. Swamp tried to destroy Pete Hegseth’s nomination to serve as Secretary of Defense.
But they got some bad news.
And Pete Hegseth just got the one vote of confidence that will change everything.
Donald Trump goes to bat for Pete Hegseth
The Washington, D.C. Swamp tried to take down Pete Hegseth with anonymous allegations that he showed up to work hungover and a false allegation that Hegseth sexually assaulted a woman at a GOP event in California back in 2017.
But Hegseth fought back and went on offense, slamming the media for spreading lies.
HOLY SH*T
Pete Hegseth just excoriated the media and says he doesn’t answer to them. Bravo.
“This will NOT be a [confirmation] process tried in media. I don’t answer to ANY one in this group – none of you. Not to that camera.”

Hegseth’s aggressive pushback won over Donald Trump, who had floated the idea of nominating Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to run the Pentagon if Hegseth’s nomination faltered.
Hegseth’s co-workers at Fox News going on the record to forcefully rebut the anonymous smears combined with the conservative grassroots threatening RINOs like Iowa Senator Joni Ernst with a Primary challenge changed the trajectory of Hegseth’s nomination.
Trump fielded questions from reporters about Hegseth’s nomination during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago.
And Trump made it clear he was sticking by Hegseth, which only served to ramp up pressure on Senate RINOs to fall in line and confirm Hegseth.
“I think Pete Hegseth is making tremendous strides over the last week, he’s going to be great,” Trump began.
Trump reminded Americans that Hegseth was a brilliant mind who attended some of the best schools in America before joining the military and serving with honor in combat.
“Look, he went to Princeton, he went to Harvard, he was a great student there. He really was — from the first day I met him, all he wanted to talk about was military. He’s just a military guy. I think it’s a natural,” Trump added.
Trump added that Hegseth was set for life as he had a lucrative career in television but gave it up because he wanted to once again serve his country.
“This was my idea. And, you know, Pete Hegseth gave up a lot, because he was going big places in Fox. Big, big places. A lot of money. And he didn’t even hesitate when I said, do you want to do this? He said, ‘Absolutely!’” Trump continued.
“I said, you know, if it doesn’t work out you’ll never have the opportunity that you have right now in terms of the world of entertainment, entertainment business, whatever you want to call it. You’ll never have that opportunity again. In fact, it could be just the opposite, because it’s nasty out there,” Trump declared.
Hegseth wants to bring the needed reforms to the military, such as purging woke ideology and returning the armed forces to their primary mission of defending American freedom.
And Trump knows Hegseth is who he can trust to help him implement his America First agenda.
“He said, ‘I don’t care, I have to do it for my country.’ He gave up a tremendous amount. If this doesn’t work, it would be a tragedy. Because, but that’s what he loves, he loves the military. I never talked about anything else, he’d talk about the military. He’d come to see me about a soldier that was unfairly treated and could I help? That’s the only thing I virtually ever talked to him about,” Trump concluded.
