The rumored shortlist was floating around the media.
And one woman just got the word about being Donald Trump’s Vice President.
Tulsi Gabbard won’t be Donald Trump’s Vice President
Former Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard left the Democrat Party in 2022.
Gabbard quickly became a favorite on the MAGA Right thanks to her frequent guest appearances on Tucker Carlson’s Fox News show.
In the 2022 election cycle, Gabbard endorsed America First candidates like J.D. Vance.
Gabbard’s youth, military service, and ability to critique the leftward drift of the Democrat Party shot her to the top of the list of potential running mates.
Trump supporters like the idea of Gabbard on the ticket as well.
At a town hall hosted by Laura Ingraham before the South Carolina primary, Trump name-checked Gabbard as one of the candidates he was considering to be his running mate.
The crowd in attendance applauded when they heard Trump mention Gabbard’s name.
But just before the party celebrated the launch of her book For Love of Country: Leave the Democrat Party Behind, Gabbard found out she was out of the running to be Vice President.
“Word on the street was that one day prior, Tulsi was informed by President Donald Trump that she would not be chosen as his Vice President,” the Spectator’s Cockburn wrote.
Why Gabbard left the Democrat Party
The description of her book explained why the four-term Congresswoman and 2020 Presidential candidate found out – that much like Ronald Reagan – the Democrat Party left her.
Gabbard’s book described the Democrats as a collection of woke totalitarians at home and warmongers abroad.
“Today’s Democrat Party is controlled by an elitist cabal of warmongers driven by woke ideology and racializing everything. They are a clear and present threat to the God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution,” the description of Gabbard’s book reads.
“Today that party is unrecognizable: undermining free speech, antagonistic to people of faith, hostile to the police and law and order, suspicious of law-abiding Americans, supporting open borders, and using our national security apparatus to target political opponents,” the description adds.
Gabbard explained the Democrat Party she joined no longer exists.
“I answered the call to serve and swore an oath, dedicating my life to supporting and defending the Constitution, both in uniform and in public office. I have always been an independent-minded person but became a Democrat when I first ran for office because I saw a party that stood up for the little guy, free speech, and civil liberties. That party is no more,” Gabbard stated.
These days, the party’s top priorities are open borders, censorship, woke ideology, and the war in Ukraine.
None of those policies are about looking out for the little guy.
And none improves the lives of the American people.
