Maria Bartiromo was stunned to see how media elites treated Trump
Fox News host Maria Bartiromo is one of the few in the media who gives Donald Trump a fair shake.
Bartiromo told former ESPN host Sage Steele that Donald Trump’s emergence on the political scene stunned the elites who controlled major institutions.
These liberal elites thought that following the election of Barack Obama, the Left imposed a culturally liberal status quo on Americans, which is why they were stunned to see tens of millions of Americans rise up in revolt and use Trump as their vehicle for protest.
Bartiromo explained to Steele that these liberal elites then weaponized their institutions against Trump to turn their consumers against him.
“I mean, in the last ten years, I guess part of the issue, I guess you know, Donald Trump came on the scene and was polarizing to so many people that they went crazy. I think that there’s a small cabal who hate him so much and have convinced their constituents — media, academia, whoever else you talk [about], Hollywood,” Bartiromo began.
How Bartiromo handled the bias
Bartiromo’s been a presence on cable TV since her days at CNBC.
And Bartiromo told Steele that the top media executives hate Trump and refuse to cover him fairly.
“I saw that as being incredible unfairness, and I called it out, and I mean, that was one thing that I think the mainstream media that happened. Donald Trump happened to them, and they just — they don’t want to report on him fairly,” Bartiromo added.
This is why mistakes in the press only run in one direction – against Trump.
Steele agreed that the negative coverage of Trump was intentional and that she even used to think Trump Derangement Syndrome wasn’t something that was real only to discover how wrong she was.
“They refuse,” Steele replied. “They refuse, and they get away with it. I think that’s the worst part is when the bosses, the leadership, allows it and it’s intentional. It’s so funny, I think it’s — I used to laugh at the TDS — the Trump derangement syndrome — that people talked about. I’m like, ‘Oh, this is real.’ People cannot can’t handle it.”
Bartiromo said the elites hate Trump because he exposed their corruption.
Prior to Trump, RINOs could get away with supporting open borders, endless wars, and globalist trade deals if they made a good show of pretending to fight Democrats on the campaign trail.
Many Americans believed Trump exposed how the game was rigged against them.
And Bartiromo believes that is Donald Trump’s real crime.
“And I wonder why? I think it’s because he exposes their corruption, some people’s corruption, and doesn’t care about talking about it. And they see him as dangerous in that regard,” Bartiromo concluded.
