Donald Trump turned in a historic performance with his win over Kamala Harris.
The details of how he made it happen sent shockwaves.
And one fact about Donald Trump’s victory was the worst possible news for Democrats.
Donald Trump put up big numbers with Hispanic voters in his victory
Former President Donald Trump had a decisive victory over Vice President Kamala Harris after he swept all seven swing states and won the popular vote.
Democrats were shell-shocked by his commanding win on Election Night.
One of the biggest takeaways from the election was that Hispanic voters were shifting to the Right.
CNN data analyst Harry Enten was stunned by the support that Trump received from Hispanic voters.
He said that the President-elect saw movement to him “across the map” and “across different parts of the Latino electorate.”
“What do we see in Pennsylvania among Latino voters? Look at this, Kamala Harris won Latinos in Pennsylvania, but just by 15 points,” Enten told host John Berman. “If you go back four years ago among Latinos in Pennsylvania, Joe Biden’s margin was, get this, John, 42 points.”
Kamala’s campaign and the media claimed that an off-color joke told by a comedian about Puerto Rico at Trump’s Madison Square Garden rally would lead to a massive backlash.
But Trump’s performance with Hispanic voters in Florida debunked that.
“How about here, Donald Trump winning among Latinos in Florida by 18 points,” Enten said. “So you might say, you know, Latinos and Florida Cubans, as you two were pointing out, it wasn’t just Cubans. But keep in mind, four years ago, Joe Biden carried Latinos in the great state of Florida. So Donald Trump flipped it.”
Trump won majority Hispanic Osceola County, Florida, which has the largest Puerto Rican population of any county in the country.
Enten noted that Trump’s gains were with every Hispanic group.
“We are seeing this movement across the map. It’s not just among Latinos who are from, say, Puerto Rico or Cubans. It’s across the map! It’s across different parts of the Latino electorate,” Enten explained. “Donald Trump, simply put, doing better than he did four years ago.”
Donald Trump won places Republicans hadn’t won since the 1800s
Trump lost 70% Hispanic Miami-Dade County by 30 points in the 2016 Election.
This year he won the county by more than 11 points and became the first Republican to win it since the 1988 Election.
“We’re just seeing this explosion of Latino support for Donald Trump,” Enten said. “Among Hispanics, definitely realignment.”
“This is what realignment looks like, the definition of political realignment,” Berman added.
One of the most astounding victories for Trump in the election was Starr County, Texas.
Located on the border with Mexico, it’s the most Hispanic county in the country at 97%.
Trump became the first Republican candidate to win Starr County since the 1892 Election.
“The vast majority of us were living so much better under the Trump administration,” Starr County GOP chair Toni Trevino said. “A lot of people are under the impression that Hispanic voters support uncontrolled immigration. That is simply not true. People here in South Texas want laws enforced.”
Donald Trump set in motion what could be one of the biggest political realignments in decades.
