For years, the music industry ran a loyalty test that silenced anyone who liked Donald Trump.
Nicki Minaj just became the biggest star in music to say so out loud.
What Nicki Minaj admitted on live television about the music industry has Hollywood in a panic.
The Confession the Music Industry Never Wanted Spoken
The "Super Bass" rapper sat down with Fox News host Laura Ingraham on Friday and confirmed what every conservative in America already knew.
"It's been ingrained in everyone's brain in the music business that we are supposed to be a Democratic family," Minaj told Ingraham on The Ingraham Angle.
She wasn't theorizing.

She was confessing.
"I just knew they would not like me supporting Trump," she said – adding that she had quietly backed the president long before she ever dared say it publicly.
One of the most powerful women in the history of rap spent years hiding her political views because the industry that made her rich demanded it.
That's not artistic freedom.
That's a political enforcement machine with a velvet glove.
She Had Two Words for Every Critic Who Questioned Her
Minaj isn't hiding anymore, and she's not sorry about it.
The rapper served as a celebrity judge for the Trump administration's Small Business Administration Million Dollar Pitch Competition – a live Washington, D.C. event where five entrepreneurs competed for a share of a $1 million prize pool on September 18.
"I am honored to be able to have an opportunity to work with this administration and to work with President Trump," she told Ingraham.
When asked what she says to critics who attack her for the partnership, Minaj had a two-word answer.
"Absolutely nothing," she said.
Back in January, she made her allegiance official from the stage at the Trump Accounts Summit in Washington.
"I am probably the president's No. 1 fan, and that's not going to change," she told the crowd. "The hate – or what people have to say – it does not affect me at all. It actually motivates me to support him more."
Trump introduced her at a White House Rose Garden luncheon in July – and made sure to brand her in his own terms.
"We also have a woman that is so respected and so hot and so great," he said, "and such a great friend of – I don't say conservative, I say of common sense."

The president added: "She's a fantastic person and she's a woman that's respected by everybody and she's got real talent."
What This Proves About the Music Business
Here's the truth Nicki Minaj just handed America on a plate.
The entertainment industry runs a political compliance operation.
Support Democrats – get airplay, get promoted, get invited to the right parties.
Support Republicans – get frozen out.
The numbers prove it: in the 2020 election cycle alone, the entertainment industry sent $104 million to Democrats and $13 million to Republicans.
That's not a difference of opinion.
That's an industry enforcing a political line.
When Carrie Underwood performed at Trump's inauguration in January 2025, her streaming numbers dropped 6 percent within days – not because her voice got worse, but because the punishment apparatus kicked into gear.
Nicki Minaj watched all of it happen.
And then she climbed on a stage in Washington and said she loves this president.
She said it to his face.
She said it on Fox News.
She said it in TIME magazine.
There is zero ambiguity left.
What makes this bigger than one celebrity endorsement is what Minaj actually admitted: that she felt this way for years and said nothing because the industry told her not to.
How many other artists are quietly rooting for Trump in private while publicly performing loyalty to the left because their label, their management, or their publicist told them their career depends on it?
Nicki Minaj just gave them permission to say what they actually think.
The music industry's unwritten rule – the one she confirmed exists – just got a lot harder to enforce.
