Barron Trump just filed paperwork to build something.
The media immediately called it a federal ethics crisis.
Here's what they found after a full investigation – and why it destroyed their own story.
What Barron Trump Built With SOLLOS Yerba Mate
The company is called SOLLOS. It's a yerba mate brand incorporated in Delaware in December 2025 and registered in Florida the following month.
Barron is listed as one of five directors.
His partners – Spencer Bernstein, Rudolfo Castello, Valentino Gomez, and Stephen Hall – are childhood friends from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach.
The company raised $1 million through a private placement.
The COO, Bernstein, posted on LinkedIn in January that they had "hit a major milestone and closed our seed round."
The debut product is a pineapple and coconut yerba mate in a light blue 12-pack. Launch date: May 2026.
That's the story.
A 20-year-old NYU business student and his high school friends built a brand and are launching it in the spring.
The Newsweek Investigation Into Barron Trumps Palm Beach Company
Newsweek ran a full investigation.
Their bombshell: the business address belongs to Jay Weitzman – a longtime Trump family friend whose parking company pulls federal contracts – and the home is worth $16 million, sits less than a mile from Mar-a-Lago, and Weitzman has previously donated to the president.
A government watchdog named Dylan Hedtler-Gaudette at the Project on Government Oversight told Newsweek the connection looked "fishy from the standpoint of government ethics."
Then Newsweek kept reporting.
Weitzman told them he has no stake in SOLLOS and no connection to the company.
The reason his address appears on the filing?
His grandson is Spencer Bernstein – Barron's COO and childhood friend.
Weeks of investigation. One result: a beverage startup registered at the COO's grandfather's house.
The Standard They Will Never Apply to Hunter Biden
This is worth spending one minute on.
Hunter Biden sold paintings to anonymous buyers while his father occupied the Oval Office.
Prices ranged up to $500,000 per canvas.
The White House refused to identify the purchasers, citing privacy.
Nobody at the Project on Government Oversight called that arrangement fishy.
Hunter Biden sat on the board of Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company, while Joe Biden served as Vice President and managed U.S. policy toward Ukraine.
He had no energy background. He collected a reported $50,000 a month for the privilege.
Barron Trump registered a beverage company with his childhood friends and listed his COO's grandfather's home as the address.
One of these things prompted a Newsweek investigation.
The other got a pass from every major newsroom in America.
What the Media Is Getting Wrong About Barron Trump
Barron Trump is a sophomore at NYU's Stern School of Business.
This isn't his first venture. He co-founded World Liberty Financial – the crypto company that added over $1.5 billion to the Trump family's bottom line – before he was old enough to legally drink.

While his classmates are doing case studies, he closed a seed round, built a brand identity with actual intellectual depth – the SOL/LOS sunrise-to-sunset concept is genuinely clever – and got a product ready to ship.
He's not cashing in on his father's name in some passive licensing deal.
He's doing the work. Building the team. Closing the round. Getting the product into a can.
The media hysteria around SOLLOS tells you exactly one thing: they know this kid has something, and they want to strangle it in the crib before America falls in love with him the way they fell in love with his father.
SOLLOS launches in May.
Buy a 12-pack.
Make the story worse for them.
