Nancy Pelosi just admitted one humiliating truth about her Trump stunt that left jaws on the floor

Dec 31, 2025

Nancy Pelosi's defining moment as House Speaker came when she tore up President Trump's State of the Union address on live television.

The image went viral and defined her relationship with the President.

But Nancy Pelosi just admitted one humiliating truth about her Trump stunt that left jaws on the floor.

Pelosi claims her viral Trump moment wasn't planned

Nancy Pelosi tried to rewrite history during a recent interview with ABC's Jonathan Karl.

The former House Speaker claimed she had "no intention" of tearing up President Trump's 2020 State of the Union address.

"I didn't intend to go to the speech to tear it up. I just, the first part of it, I tore a page because he was lying. And then the next page, then the next page. I thought it was a manifesto of lies all throughout, so I better tear up the whole speech," Pelosi told Karl.¹

Pelosi even acknowledged the speeches are printed on "strong paper" that requires multiple tears to get the job done.

She admitted her staff was mortified by her antics.

"I thought my staff was going to die," Pelosi said.¹

The problem with Pelosi's story is nobody believes her.

Conservatives who watched that State of the Union address saw Pelosi pre-tearing the pages during Trump's speech.

She carefully created perforation lines so she could dramatically rip through the entire document when the cameras were on her.

This wasn't some spontaneous fit of rage.

Pelosi planned this stunt to create a viral moment that would dominate news coverage and energize the Democrat base.

Pelosi's other "unplanned" Trump moments

Pelosi also tried to claim her viral 2019 confrontation with Trump at the White House was spontaneous.

A photo captured Pelosi standing and pointing her finger at Trump during a contentious cabinet meeting.

The image became iconic among Democrat voters who saw Pelosi as standing up to Trump.

Pelosi told Karl she gets more requests to sign that photo than anything else.

"You know what I'm saying when I go out the door? I'm leaving here because I've had it with you, Mr. President. With you, all roads lead to Putin," Pelosi claimed.¹

But here's the kicker – the White House released that photo and called Pelosi "crazy."

"They did me a favor," Pelosi admitted.¹

So Pelosi wants Americans to believe both of her most famous anti-Trump moments just happened by accident.

A woman who spent four decades in Washington, D.C. mastering the art of political theater expects voters to think she stumbled into viral fame.

That's about as believable as Joe Biden jogging up the stairs to Air Force One.

Pelosi's real legacy isn't what she thinks

Karl asked Pelosi what she wanted to be remembered for during her decades in Congress.

She immediately pointed to ObamaCare.

"I'm very proud of the Affordable Care Act. I think it just made a big change in terms of what working families need for their health and their financial health," Pelosi said.¹

Of course she's proud of ObamaCare.

It more than doubled health insurance costs for millions of Americans, with premiums increasing 129% from 2013 to 2019.²

Small business owners across the country had to trim staff because ObamaCare made it financially impossible to keep paying for employee health coverage.

The so-called Affordable Care Act made healthcare unaffordable for the people who needed it most.

Pelosi also infamously declared Congress had to pass ObamaCare to "find out what's in it."

She's proud of ramming through legislation nobody read that devastated America's healthcare system.

That perfectly captures Nancy Pelosi's career in Congress.

Pelosi announced in November that she would not seek re-election after completing her current term.

Her retirement can't come soon enough for conservatives who watched her spend years weaponizing government against Trump and his supporters.

Pelosi will be remembered for turning the January 6 Committee into a Soviet-style show trial that denied due process to American citizens.

She'll be remembered for two sham impeachments of President Trump that accomplished nothing except energizing his base.

And she'll be remembered for tearing up Trump's State of the Union address in a carefully planned stunt she now claims was spontaneous.

Nancy Pelosi's legacy is political theater masquerading as leadership.
