Nancy Pelosi Got Caught on Camera the Moment Trump Called Out Her Stock Trades

Apr 15, 2026

Nancy Pelosi spent years making sure Congress could keep trading stocks on inside information.

Now she's claiming she cheered when Trump demanded they stop.

Fox News has the receipts – and they prove she's lying.

Nancy Pelosi Was Applauding Until Trump Said Her Name

Fox News Digital confirmed what the cameras caught: Pelosi was applauding Trump's call for a congressional stock trading ban – right up until the moment Trump asked the chamber whether she had stood up.

Then she stopped.

"Did Nancy Pelosi stand up, if she's here?" Trump asked from the podium. "Doubt it."

She was right there in the chamber, seated next to Rep. Ro Khanna, visibly glaring when the remark landed.

Now she's on CNN telling Kasie Hunt "I did too, a lot of Democrats stood up."

She wasn't applauding the ban.

She was applauding until the man she despises called her out by name – and the second he did, she froze.

That is not the same thing.

Paul Pelosi's Stock Trades: The Numbers That Explain Why She Froze

Paul Pelosi's portfolio didn't just beat the market.

It demolished it.

Over the past decade, the Pelosi family portfolio generated an estimated 838% cumulative return – beating the S&P 500's 256% gain by 581%, according to Quiver Quantitative.

In 2024 alone, his trades were up 54%.

Between 2022 and 2025, the Pelosi family reported a trade volume of $56.9 million, according to Capitol Trades.

Nancy Pelosi's net worth is estimated at more than $250 million, according to Quiver Quantitative – on a congressional salary of $174,000 a year.

The math doesn't work unless you have information nobody else has.

Paul Pelosi bought NVIDIA call options in November 2023 for approximately $1.88 million.

By mid-2024, those options had ballooned to $5.83 million – nearly $4 million in gains.

He bought Broadcom call options in June 2024, just weeks before the company executed a 10-for-1 stock split – letting him acquire 20,000 shares at a fraction of market price.

He sold millions in Google stock shortly before the DOJ moved against Google's ad technology business.

These aren't just smart trades.

They're perfectly timed around events that move through the exact committees his wife oversees.

She Killed the Congressional Stock Trading Ban Every Single Time

Congress named a stock trading ban bill the PELOSI Act – the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act.

They did that on purpose.

In 2021, when public outrage over Paul's trades reached a boiling point, Pelosi told reporters that members of Congress should be free to trade stocks.

"We are a free market economy," she said. "They should be able to participate in that."

When bipartisan pressure for a real ban grew in 2022 – with Democrat Abigail Spanberger recruiting 12 Republicans and 58 Democrats to co-sponsor legislation – Pelosi slow-walked it into oblivion.

No vote.

No ban.

No accountability.

Spanberger went public calling it deliberate – comparing Pelosi's tactics to "Lucy pulling the football" on their bipartisan bill.

Pelosi then introduced her own replacement bill, designed by a deputy who had previously mocked trading ban advocates at a committee hearing.

A former government ethics official who reviewed Pelosi's substitute bill said it was so riddled with loopholes that the country would be in worse shape with it than without it.

The legislative calendar ran out.

The ban died.

Pelosi kept trading.

The STOCK Act on Congressional Insider Trading Was Already Toothless and She Liked It That Way

Congress passed the STOCK Act in 2012 under Obama.

It required trade disclosures within 45 days and prohibited using non-public information for personal gain.

It sounded serious.

Enforcement is nearly nonexistent – violations result in fines as low as $200.

There is no independent prosecutor.

There is no criminal referral mechanism.

Congress polices itself, then writes itself a $200 ticket when caught.

Pelosi voted for the STOCK Act – the version with no teeth – and spent the next decade making sure nobody gave it any.

Trump's Stop Insider Trading Act would ban members of Congress, their spouses and dependent children from purchasing individual stocks entirely – and require seven days of public notice before any sale.

That's a real ban.

Pelosi knows exactly what a real ban would cost the family portfolio.

And that's why her "I did too" on CNN is one of the most dishonest things she's said in a career built on them.

Pass the Stop Insider Trading Act.

Name it after her if you have to.

They already did.
