Mike Rowe has been a champion for blue-collar workers throughout his career.
But the television host proved his patriotism runs just as deep.
And Mike Rowe made one stunning Memorial Day gesture that left Navy veterans deeply moved.
Mike Rowe partners with U.S. Money Reserve to honor fallen heroes
The creator and host of Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs has never shied away from showing respect for America’s working class.
But Rowe’s latest project shows his deep appreciation extends far beyond the trades to those who served in uniform.
In honor of Memorial Day, Rowe partnered with U.S. Money Reserve to present a special coin collection to the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation.
The donation featured a set of 5 oz. silver coins from the company’s exclusive World War II: Valor & Victory Series.
The four-coin set includes commemorative pieces honoring “Attack on Pearl Harbor,” “Battle of Midway,” “Battle of Normandy,” and “Battle of Iwo Jima.”
These weren’t just ordinary collectibles.
Each coin pays tribute to the servicemembers whose bravery defended liberty and shaped the course of history during World War II’s most pivotal moments.
A fifth coin honoring the “Battle of the Bulge” will soon join the collection, expanding the series that commemorates these heroic moments of valor and sacrifice.
Rowe’s presentation was captured in a moving video that underscores the importance of the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation’s mission.
The foundation works to honor, recognize, and celebrate the service of the men and women in the Sea Services – the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and Merchant Marines.
A tour that opened Rowe’s eyes to Navy history
What made Rowe’s gesture even more meaningful was his personal journey through the U.S. Navy Memorial in Washington, D.C.
The television personality admitted he had never visited the memorial before, despite living in the nation’s capital area for years.
“The USNM is the only memorial in DC I’ve never visited before, so I was really honored to get a tour from the President and CEO himself,” Rowe said.
Vice Admiral John Nowell, USN (Ret.), President & CEO of the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation, personally showed Rowe through displays that showcase the bravery and determination of American sailors.
The tour culminated with the formal presentation of the 2024 5 oz. Silver World War II: Valor & Victory Series Ultra High Relief Proof 4-Coin Set.
“I was doubly honored to present him with these incredible five-ounce silver coins, commemorating pivotal battles of the second world war,” Rowe said.
Rowe praised U.S. Money Reserve for their commitment to honoring America’s military.
“It’s such a pleasure to be associated with a company like U.S. Money Reserve, who go out of their way every year to honor our military men and women. What a great way to celebrate another Memorial Day,” Rowe said.
A partnership built on patriotism
This donation represents far more than a one-time gesture from U.S. Money Reserve.
The company has supported the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation since 2016, when it launched the now sold-out Pearl Harbor 75th Anniversary coin series.
Revenue from that collection helped pay for the Lone Sailor statue that now stands at the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.
In 2022, U.S. Money Reserve became the U.S. Navy Memorial’s official precious-metals IRA partner.
That partnership was made official during the Blessing of the Fleet on April 9, 2022, when coins from the first Gold and Silver Legacy Eagle series were presented to the U.S. Navy Memorial.
Angela Roberts, CEO of U.S. Money Reserve, emphasized the significance of Memorial Day and their ongoing commitment to veterans.
“Memorial Day is a time to remember, reflect, and give thanks,” Roberts said. “We are honored to support the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation’s mission and continue our longstanding commitment to recognizing the service and sacrifice of America’s veterans.”
The U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation expressed their gratitude for the continued partnership.
“The Navy Memorial is honored by the continued support of U.S. Money Reserve,” foundation representatives stated. “This donation not only reflects their ongoing dedication but serves as a meaningful tribute to the men and women of the Sea Services – past, present, and future.”
The beautifully crafted coins are now proudly displayed by Vice Admiral Nowell as a symbol of shared dedication to preserving the legacy of the U.S. Navy.
Mike Rowe’s gesture, combined with U.S. Money Reserve’s ongoing support, demonstrates that patriotism and appreciation for our military heroes remains alive and well in America.
In a time when many Americans feel disconnected from their history, Rowe and U.S. Money Reserve are ensuring that the sacrifices of our greatest generation are never forgotten.
