Mexico’s President gave one message to Donald Trump that Democrats will hate

Mexico will play a key role in Donald Trump’s plan to secure the border.

He’ll have to negotiate with the country to get them on board.

And Mexico’s President gave one message to Donald Trump that Democrats will hate.

Donald Trump scores an early victory with Mexico

President-elect Donald Trump is going to reinstate the successful border security policies that he used during his first term in office.

His “Remain in Mexico” policy was one of his most effective tools for limiting the influx of migrants toward the southern border.

The policy requires that migrants wait in Mexico until their asylum in the United States is heard by a judge.

President Joe Biden repealed the policy when he took office and released asylum seekers into the interior of the country.

Trump will have to negotiate with Mexico to have the policy reinstated and he’s going to be dealing with a new counterpart on the side of the table.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum was elected in July and is a far-left extremist.

It was thought that she would fight Trump tooth and nail on his plans to secure the border and deport illegal aliens.

But Sheinbaum struck a conciliatory tone, saying Mexico would be ready for the return of illegal aliens from the United States.

“In the event of deportations, we will receive Mexicans, and we have a plan for that,” Sheinbaum said in Spanish during a press conference. “However, we will work beforehand to show that our nationals who are on the other side of the border do not have to be deported, as they actually benefit the U.S. economy.”

Donald Trump lays down the law with the Mexican government

Sheinbaum called Trump the day after the election to congratulate him on his victory.

She said the conversation with the President-elect was “very cordial” and that they discussed the “good relations that we’ll have between Mexico and the United States.”

The Mexican President worked at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in California in the 1990s while she was obtaining her doctorate in engineering and speaks English.

Trump is ready to drive a hard bargain with Mexico to secure the border and remove illegal aliens from the country.

He’s vowed to use the military against the Mexican drug cartels.

Baker Institute Center scholar Rodrigo Montes de Oca told Fox News Digital that Trump’s threats could leverage Sheinbaum into taking action against the cartels.

“Now with the coming Trump administration, everything is going to be much more complex because they will not only focus on immigration but also on trade and security,” Montes de Oca stated. “That is why Trump went so far as to say during the campaign that if Mexico did not cooperate on these issues, he would make public the U.S. government’s intelligence information on politicians in Mexico who are related to drug cartels.”

He predicted that Mexico would take action against the cartels rather than risk the American military intervening in the country.

Donald Trump’s tough stances are already starting to pay dividends with the Mexican government.
