Merrick Garland officiated the wedding.
That one fact tells you everything you need to know about the judge who just ordered Trump's name ripped off the Kennedy Center.
Now find out who that judge's wife is currently working for – and what it means for every case he touches.
The Wedding That Washington Forgot to Mention
U.S. District Judge Christopher Cooper – Obama appointee, DC Circuit fixture, and the man who just handed down a 94-page ruling erasing Trump's name from the Kennedy Center – married attorney Amy Jeffress in 1999.
Merrick Garland performed the ceremony.
That's not a footnote. That's the whole story.

Garland, who spent four years as Biden's Attorney General overseeing the DOJ's relentless pursuit of Donald Trump, is the man who literally joined Cooper and Jeffress as a family unit.
The same Merrick Garland who weaponized the Justice Department.
The same Merrick Garland Trump's base has watched for years.
He married the judge who is now ruling against Trump – and the judge never disclosed it.
Trump called it out immediately.
"Amy is totally wired into the Left System, from her husband down, and it is impossible for me to be treated fairly," he wrote on Truth Social after the ruling dropped.
He's right.
And the web goes much deeper than the wedding.
Clients, Committees and the Russia Hoax Machine
Amy Jeffress isn't just the judge's wife.
She is, at this moment, Joe Biden's personal attorney – representing the former president in a lawsuit blocking the DOJ from releasing transcripts of Biden's classified documents interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur.
While her husband rules against Trump, she shields Biden.
That's not a coincidence.
That's a conflict of interest hiding in plain daylight.

Her resume reads like a directory of every name that spent eight years trying to destroy Donald Trump.
She served as counselor to Eric Holder – Obama's Attorney General – at the Justice Department.
She represented Lisa Page, the FBI lawyer whose anti-Trump text messages with Peter Strzok exposed the political rot inside the Crossfire Hurricane operation.
She served as outside counsel to the House January 6 Committee.
Her law firm represented E. Jean Carroll in her civil lawsuit against Trump.
And since July 2025, she has been Biden's personal attorney.
Every single client. Every single role. All pointed in one direction.
This is not the first time Judge Cooper has faced these questions.
During Special Counsel John Durham's prosecution of Clinton-linked attorney Michael Sussmann, critics demanded Cooper recuse himself for the exact same reason – his wife was representing Lisa Page, a central figure in the same probe Sussmann helped advance.
The Sussmann jury ultimately acquitted.
The Washington Times raised the conflict in 2022. Fox News raised it in 2021.
Both times Cooper said nothing and kept ruling.
The Pattern Nobody in Washington Will Say Out Loud
Here is what actually happened: a judge whose wedding was performed by Merrick Garland, whose wife currently represents Joe Biden, and whose wife built her career defending the FBI lawyers who ran Crossfire Hurricane – that judge ruled against Donald Trump and never told anyone about any of it.
Twice now. Two different cases.
Zero disclosures.

The Kennedy Center ruling came down on May 29 – JFK's birthday, a touch the media celebrated.
Cooper's 94-page opinion declared Trump's handpicked board "overstepped its statutory bounds" by adding Trump's name to the building, and blocked the administration's planned two-year closure for renovation.
Trump responded by washing his hands of the project entirely, putting Congress on notice that they now own the mess.
What nobody in the press will say: the man who wrote that 94-page opinion goes home every night to Biden's personal attorney.
His wedding was officiated by Merrick Garland.
His wife built her career representing the central figures of the Russia hoax.
And he never told anyone.
Trump put it directly: "He has a total Conflict of Interest, and should be brought up on charges for not revealing these facts."
That's the part the media will call outrageous. But ask yourself – if a Trump-appointed judge's wife was simultaneously representing a key Trump ally in active litigation, and the judge never disclosed it, would the press call for hearings?
You already know the answer.
