McDonald’s Made One Smart Move That Proves They Get What Washington, D.C. Doesn’t

Sep 4, 2025

Remember when McDonald’s was the place you could grab a decent meal without breaking the bank?

Those days seemed like ancient history after four years of Biden-era inflation turned a trip to the Golden Arches into a luxury experience.

But McDonald’s just announced one move that shows they understand what the politicians in Washington, D.C. refuse to acknowledge about regular Americans.

McDonald’s brings back Extra Value Meals after five-year absence

Here’s something that should tell you everything about the state of the economy: McDonald’s just brought back Extra Value Meals for the first time since 2019.¹

The fast food giant announced Tuesday that it’s offering eight meal bundles at breakfast, lunch, and dinner – with customers saving 15% compared to ordering items individually.

We’re talking about Sausage McMuffin with Egg meals, Big Mac combos, 10-piece Chicken McNuggets, and Quarter Pounder burgers.

McDonald’s is immediately rolling out a $5 Sausage McMuffin with Egg meal and an $8 Big Mac meal, with more offers coming in November.

The timing here isn’t coincidental.

This comes after The Wall Street Journal reported that McDonald’s and its franchisees spent weeks negotiating to keep popular combo meals affordable.²

Four years of Biden’s economic policies forced McDonald’s hand

Look, here’s what’s really happening – and McDonald’s executives would never say this publicly, but the numbers don’t lie.

American families are getting crushed by inflation, and businesses like McDonald’s are watching their customer base disappear.

The company has been scrambling since reports surfaced that some locations were charging $18 for Big Mac meals.

McDonald’s U.S. President Joe Erlinger had to issue a public statement in May 2024 blaming "poorly sourced reports" for the narrative that they’d raised prices beyond inflation.³

But here’s the thing that should make you furious – McDonald’s wouldn’t need to defend $18 burgers if Democrats hadn’t unleashed the worst inflation in four decades.

The company launched a "McValue" menu category in January as part of what they’re calling a "comeback strategy."

Translation: they’re trying to survive policies that have made their core customers too broke to afford fast food.

The bigger picture Washington, D.C. won’t admit

You want to know what else is driving this? The same inflationary pressures that have been crushing businesses and families for years.

The company has been dealing with everything from rising labor costs to supply chain disasters – all while trying to serve customers who are watching their paychecks shrink.

When government policies make everything more expensive, guess who gets stuck with the bill? The customers – the same working families these policies supposedly help.

The whole thing would be hilarious if it wasn’t destroying people’s lives.

Democrats create inflation, then force wage increases that make inflation worse, then act shocked when families can’t afford to eat out anymore.

McDonald’s owner and operator Danielle Marasco said they’re "working together to keep the menu items our customers love affordable for everyone in the communities we serve."⁴

That’s corporate speak for "we’re doing everything we can to help families survive the mess Biden created."

The real winners and losers here

Here’s what this McDonald’s move really shows you about the difference between private business and government.

McDonald’s saw their customers struggling and said, "How can we help?"

Democrats saw families struggling and said, "Let’s make everything more expensive."

The Golden Arches figured out how to offer better deals while dealing with higher labor costs and supply chain disasters.

Meanwhile, Democrats are still trying to convince you that spending trillions more will somehow make things cheaper.

McDonald’s is also pushing customers toward their app with deals like free medium fries with a $1 purchase every Friday and free McCrispy chicken sandwiches for new users.

They’re using technology and innovation to deliver value.

Government’s solution? More regulations, more mandates, more of the same policies that created this mess in the first place.

The fact that McDonald’s bringing back value meals is news tells you everything you need to know about how badly this administration has failed working Americans.

When fast food becomes a luxury, you know the country is headed in the wrong direction.

But at least McDonald’s gets it – even if Washington, D.C. bureaucrats don’t.
