Lil Wayne Backed Donald Trump on the Ballroom and Just Exposed Every Democrat Who Called It Corrupt

Jul 25, 2026

Lil Wayne performed for Kamala Harris at a hip-hop celebration and ended up playing a backyard barbecue.

Now the same rapper is backing Trump's plan to fix that embarrassment – and the Democrats screaming loudest about corruption just got caught taking their own piece of the money.

Lil Wayne said something on a podcast this week that every Democrat trashing the White House ballroom absolutely does not want you to hear.

Wayne Performed for Kamala and Got a Lawn

In 2023, then-Vice President Kamala Harris hosted a celebration marking the 50th anniversary of hip-hop at Number One Observatory Circle.

Lil Wayne was the talent.

He showed up expecting to perform inside a prestigious government venue – and found himself at what he described as a "backyard barbecue."

He thought he was heading inside the actual White House.

He wasn't.

Wayne Knew Exactly What Trump Was Talking About

On Monday's episode of the "Friends Keep Secrets" podcast, Wayne heard Trump's explanation for the ballroom and immediately connected it to his own experience.

"I'm so glad to hear Trump say – when they was mad at him about building the ballroom – and he was like, because everything we do we have to do it on the damn lawn," Wayne said.

He wasn't repeating Trump's words to agree with a politician.

He was repeating them because he'd lived it.

Then he went further.

"So, people who don't know nothing are hearing that thinking he's just being Trump – no, for real, I was glad to hear him saying that," Wayne said.

People who don't know anything.

That's the whole Democrat Party's opposition to this project summarized in five words by one of the most famous rappers alive.

And here's why that stings: some of those same Democrats don't just not know nothing – they've been quietly cashing checks from the exact same corporate donors funding the ballroom they call corrupt.

Campaign finance records show Democrat Senate contender Haley Stevens of Michigan pulled in more than $120,000 across several election cycles from PACs tied to ballroom-funding corporations – with $48,000 of that arriving in the first quarter of 2026 alone.

Democrat Representative Angie Craig of Minnesota did the same – over $114,000 from the same corporate network over multiple cycles, with another $17,300 landing in early 2026.

Both women have publicly attacked the ballroom as corrupt and out of touch with struggling Americans.

Both women kept the money.

The Critics Who Called It Corrupt Were Already on the Payroll

Adam Schiff led Senate Democrats in demanding a "complete accounting" of ballroom donors, warning of "influence peddling" and "blatant corruption."

Richard Blumenthal called it a "gigantic boondoggle."

Cory Booker accused the administration of using a security incident as "a pretext for a corrupt endeavor."

These are the people calling Trump's ballroom a shakedown.

These are also the people whose party colleagues were pocketing six figures from the same corporations writing checks for the construction.

Lil Wayne performed on a lawn for Kamala Harris and figured out the ballroom argument in thirty seconds.

Democrats have had nine months – and they still can't explain why they took the money.

Every president has added something to the White House – Roosevelt built the West Wing, Truman rebuilt the interior, Ford put in a swimming pool on private donations alone – and nobody called any of them corrupt for it.

Trump's ballroom is privately funded, going up ahead of schedule, and coming in under budget.

As Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt explained, the President of the United States currently cannot host major international functions without erecting "a large and unsightly tent approximately 100 yards away from the main building's entrance."

Lil Wayne stood in that reality in 2023 and recognized it instantly when Trump described it in 2026.

The Democrats screaming corruption got caught collecting from the same donors they told you to be outraged about.

They don't know anything – and now we know why.
