The polls underestimated Donald Trump’s support in 2016 and 2020.
Are Democrats set up for another Election Night disappointment?
Now Laura Ingraham found out the polls are wrong for this shocking reason.
Lara Trump claims there is a shy Trump vote
The most recent New York Times/Siena poll showed Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump by three points.
Laura Ingraham brought on Republican National Committee Co-Chair Lara Trump to ask about the poll.
Ingraham fixated on the number in the poll showing Kamala Harris leading Donald Trump on the question of who was the change candidate.
“In the new New York Times/Siena poll, she does best Donald Trump as being the change candidate somehow among likely voters by two points,” Ingraham asked. “What’s going on there?”
Trump responded that she simply didn’t believe The Times poll was accurate and pivoted to using Joe Biden’s own words – where he said Kamala Harris was in on every foreign and domestic policy decision – made over the last four years to argue that the American people would never see Kamala Harris as the change candidate.
“Well, I don’t believe that poll at all,” Trump shot back. “And by the way, don’t take my word for it. Take Joe Biden’s word for it because he is the one who told us the other day, Laura, that Kamala Harris has been there side-by-side making all the decisions, of course, that we have seen in that White House. No one believes that there will be any sort of change with Kamala Harris. The people of this country are begging for Donald Trump to go back in that White House.”
Lara Trump then told Ingraham she thought – like in 2016 and 2020 – there was a shy Trump vote that pollsters weren’t picking up.
“Our commander-in-chief, the leader of the free world,” Trump added. “No one buys that Kamala Harris has the capability to do that job. And polls like that, I think, are absolutely ridiculous. I get slipped beverage napkins every time I get on an airplane saying, ‘We can’t wait to vote for Trump,’ ‘Go Trump,’ ‘Trump 2024.’ Or people just coming up to me these days, Laura, everywhere I go, saying how excited they are to get out and vote.”
Private polls paint worrisome picture for Kamala Harris
Private polling is more robust than public polling because campaigns, PACs, and interest groups have more money to spend on screening for what the electorate will actually look like.
And the private polls show Democrats in trouble.
The Wall Street Journal recently reported that Wisconsin Democrat Senator Tammy Baldwin’s internal polling showed Donald Trump leading Kamala Harris by three in Wisconsin.
Independent journalist Mark Halperin reported the private polling he’s seen shows Kamala Harris “is in a lot of trouble . . . In the conversations I’m having with Trump people and Democrats with data, they are extremely bullish on Trump’s chances in the last 48 hours. Extremely bullish.”
“I just saw some new private polling that’s very robust. Private polling,” says @MarkHalperin. No matter what the polls say, the Kamala Harris campaign isn’t acting like they are winning.
Kamala’s handlers are putting her out for more interviews and they are trying to increase her number of campaign events.
That could be a hint that the reports from the Wall Street Journal and Mark Halperin are closer to accurate than Democrats would like to admit.
