Kids Beat a Mike Lee Piñata 15 Minutes From Where Charlie Kirk Was Murdered

Apr 23, 2026

Charlie Kirk was shot dead in Utah seven months ago and the left learned absolutely nothing.

Now an LGBTQ group in Provo is selling paintings of Trump's severed head to families with strollers.

And they brought piñatas of Mike Lee for the children to smash – at the same park where Kirk's candlelight vigil was held.

What Happened at Provo Memorial Park on April 11

The Cougar Pride Center – an independent group that describes itself as "an LGBTQ resource for BYU students" – hosted a Pride in Progress festival at Provo Memorial Park.

One vendor table featured a $150 painting of Donald Trump's severed head on a platter, eyes gouged out, titled "Liberation with the Head of Hegemony."

Right next to it: decorative Molotov cocktails for sale.

Children were filmed beating a piñata designed to look like Senator Mike Lee until the head broke off and hit the ground.

A baby in a stroller sat just feet from the decapitation painting while this was happening.

The event guidelines told vendors to "make this an event you can invite your grandma or your LDS family to."

Apparently someone missed the memo.

The Artist Thinks She Made a Point

The artist, Sav Kubensis, told local outlet KUTV her work is protected under the First Amendment.

"While my art may not be politically correct, it isn't a call to action or a threat," Kubensis said.

She then compared herself to Mike Lee – claiming his social media posts mocked the assassination of a Minnesota lawmaker.

That's the defense: someone else was bad first.

Kubensis also promoted the piñata on Instagram before the event, writing: "Have you ever wanted to smash Mike Lee? Come take a swing on Saturday at Memorial Park in Provo!"

The Cougar Pride Center told Fox News Digital they are "not associated with this artist and do not condone violence of any kind."

They hosted the event.

They vetted the vendors – minimally, by their own admission.

They picked the location.

This Is the Same Ground Where Kirk Was Mourned

BYU students set up a candlelight vigil at Provo Memorial Park in September 2025 after Tyler James Robinson shot Charlie Kirk in the neck from a rooftop 142 yards away at Utah Valley University.

Kirk was 31 years old.

Robinson – who allegedly told his roommate "some hate can't be negotiated out" – is now facing aggravated murder charges and the death penalty.

Kai Schwemmer, a BYU student and College Republicans of America official, connected the dots immediately: "Items like the ones sold here are an upsetting sign that little has changed since, and that desensitization to violence has only increased."

The White House did not mince words.

A spokesperson told Fox News Digital: "These sick freaks need to seriously get their heads examined and seek psychiatric help to treat their severe and debilitating case of Trump Derangement Syndrome."

The Left Has Been Conditioning This for Years

This is not random.

The left has spent years producing imagery of dead conservatives and calling it art, satire, or free speech.

Kathy Griffin posed with a severed Trump head in 2017.

A Shakespeare in the Park production staged Julius Caesar as a Trump assassination in Central Park that same year.

Every time, the defense is identical: it's symbolic, it's protected, it's not a literal threat.

Then Tyler Robinson climbed onto a rooftop and shot Charlie Kirk in the neck.

The desensitization is the point.

When children spend their Saturday afternoons beating a senator's likeness until the head pops off – 15 minutes from where a real conservative was actually murdered – that is not art.

That is a culture being built, and the organizations building it are still operating.
