And Kellyanne Conway picked one fight that left everyone speechless.
Kellyanne Conway confronts Meghan McCain
One of the Trump advisors the media hated the most was Kellyanne Conway.
The press despised Conway because Conway proved effective when she successfully managed Trump’s 2016 Presidential campaign.
Media outlets reveled in the unseemliness of how Conway’s husband George would go on TV and call Trump a liar and a criminal while his wife worked for Trump.
Now that Donald Trump won re-election, Conway figured it was time to settle some old scores.
One was with Meghan McCain, the former RINO co-host on The View from 2017 to 2021.
The Daily Beast reported Conway confronted McCain at The Washington Post’s third annual Global Women’s Summit.
“Kellyanne walked up to Meghan and said, ‘I wasn’t going to say this while I was miked but do you remember what you said about me and my marriage on The View?’” one witness told the Daily Beast. “You called my marriage ‘gross.’”
“Do you realize what you said and what you did? Do you realize all the people you hurt?” Conway also allegedly said to McCain.
A flustered McCain tried to claim she had no idea what Conway was talking about.
“I don’t remember what I said that hurt you,” McCain claimed.
Conway said she waited for a private moment to confront McCain so as not to make a public spectacle out of what she had to say.
“I waited until the cameras and microphones were off to privately and calmly address the very public insults she has directed at my family,” Conway reportedly said.
Conway later told the Daily Beast that her beef with McCain owed to nasty comments McCain made about the Conways’ marriage when McCain was on The View.
“She may wish to outrun her recent past as a years-long resident Mean Girl on The View and Bravo, where her mouth was a spigot of vile and bile hurled toward people and topics she does not know, including my marriage and children, and casually lying about silly things like me calling her (I don’t have her number),” Conway stated.
McCain later played off the incident, saying she was unprepared for such a confrontation and defended her past comments calling the Conways’ marriage a “sick relationship” back in 2019.
“It was a bizarre experience and certainly not what I expected when I accepted an invitation to speak at an event hosted by The Washington Post and Tina Brown. The only reason why their marriage was ever a hot topic was because they were constantly airing their dirty laundry to America,” McCain told the Daily Beast.
If anyone should be sensitive to criticism about family, it should be McCain.
Meghan McCain still holds a grudge against both Donald Trump and Kari Lake over comments the two made about her father, the late Senator John McCain.
