Kash Patel Just Confirmed What Trump Told You for Years and the FBI Lied About It

May 10, 2026

James Comey signed the warrants.

The FBI used a dossier Hillary Clinton paid for to get them.

And now the man running the FBI just confirmed the FISA court declared those warrants illegal – because the FBI lied to obtain them.

What Patel Said and Why It Matters

Patel sat down with Sean Hannity this week and walked through the whole operation in plain language – the kind the media spent ten years refusing to use.

"A political party in the United States of America in the 21st century would go overseas and hire some bogus intelligence asset to manufacture fraudulent, fake, unverified information," Patel said.

Then they funneled those manufactured lies to the FBI, which took them into a secret surveillance court and used them to spy on the opposing party's presidential candidate.

Patel was explicit: the warrants used campaign finance funds – Hillary Clinton's campaign finance funds – to purchase the intelligence that justified illegal spying on Donald Trump.

The FISA court itself agreed.

"The FISA court themselves came back and said these warrants were illegal," Patel confirmed. "The FBI did not provide evidence of exculpatory evidence and innocence and that the FBI essentially lied in those applications and all the information was unverified."

That's not a political allegation.

That's the court that issued the warrants admitting it was deceived.

How Clinton's Paid Spy Became the FBI's Star Witness

The Clinton campaign and the DNC paid more than $1 million to law firm Perkins Coie, which funneled the money to Fusion GPS, which hired former British spy Christopher Steele to compile dirt on Trump.

The Federal Election Commission later fined the Clinton campaign $8,000 and the DNC $105,000 for hiding those payments in campaign finance filings – labeling Steele's work as "legal services."

The FBI took Steele's unverified dossier and used it as the central basis for four FISA warrant applications targeting Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

In October 2022, FBI agent Stephen Auten testified under questioning from Special Counsel John Durham that the FBI had no corroboration for any of Steele's allegations on the day of the first warrant application – and used the dossier anyway.

Durham himself confirmed in his final report that "the FBI was not able to corroborate a single substantive allegation contained in the Steele Reports."

Not one.

The DOJ Inspector General found 17 separate errors and omissions in the FISA warrant applications – including the deliberate omission that Carter Page was actively working as a CIA source at the very moment the FBI was presenting him to the court as a Russian agent.

They buried the evidence that cleared him.

In January 2020, the FISA court declared two of the four warrants legally invalid.

Rod Rosenstein – who co-signed the fourth renewal application alongside then-Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe – later told Congress he would never have put his name on it if he'd known the dossier had no factual foundation.

Comey signed the first two. Rosenstein and McCabe signed the last one.

This Is Bigger Than Russiagate

Here is what most people missed during the years of "Russia collusion" coverage.

The FISA court's January 2020 ruling determined that by the time of the second renewal in March 2017, the predicate for the warrants was no longer valid.

Mueller was appointed two months after that.

If the warrant was invalid in March 2017, there was no legal basis for the investigation that produced Mueller's appointment – which means two years of Senate hearings, $35 million in taxpayer spending, and the near-destruction of a presidency were built on a foundation that a federal court later called illegal.

Think about what that actually means.

Every leaked story. Every breathless CNN segment. Every Democrat who looked into a camera and said "the walls are closing in." All of it – every single bit of the Mueller circus – ran on fuel the FISA court said was stolen.

Patel knows more is coming.

"I knew in the four years that we were out of office, that they continued to regenerate that institution of weaponization," he said. "So when I walked in the door, I said, 'We only got a bit of it. We only got maybe half of it.'"

The man who wrote the 2018 Nunes Memo exposing FBI bias in the Russiagate investigation is now running the FBI itself – and he's saying the weaponization continued under Biden, targeting him personally and others who dared to expose the first operation.

Comey just got indicted for the second time last week.

The people who built this machine are facing consequences for it at last – and the man now running the FBI is warning that what's been uncovered is still only half the story.
