The momentum in the Presidential election keeps swinging away from Kamala Harris.
She’s facing a turning point with her campaign.
And Kamala Harris got one dire warning from the media that hit her like a ton of bricks.
New York Times warns that Kamala Harris is in trouble
Vice President Kamala Harris has steadily lost support nationally and in the swing states that will decide the election during the last month of the race.
Former President Donald Trump has taken a slim lead in the RealClearPolitics polling average nationally and in all seven of the swing states.
Democrats are nervous about the polls moving against Kamala in the final weeks, but that turned into a full-blown panic when one of the gold standard pollsters released its latest survey.
A New York Times/Siena College poll found that Trump and Kamala were tied at 48% a piece.
Kamala led 48% to 45% over him when the poll was last taken in early October.
It became the latest survey to find movement in Trump’s direction in the closing weeks of the race.
Kamala raised over $1 billion during this campaign and her money isn’t moving the needle.
Trump had a 47% to 46% lead in The Time/Siena poll when third-party candidates like Green Party Presidential candidate Jill Stein were included.
“The result, coming less than two weeks before Election Day, and as millions of Americans have already voted, is not encouraging for Ms. Harris,” The Times wrote. “[Democrats] have been looking to Ms. Harris to build a strong national lead as a sign that she would do well in such critical swing states as Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.”
Warning signs for Kamala Harris flashing red
The poll included a couple of numbers that had alarm bells ringing for Democrats about the race.
Only 28% of voters in the poll thought that the country was headed in the right direction.
A terrible sign for the party in control of the White House.
That’s why Kamala’s campaign, with the help of the media, tried to paint Trump as incumbent and act like she showed up on the political scene when she replaced President Joe Biden in July.
Her slipping poll numbers suggest that this strategy isn’t working.
The top issues for voters in the survey were the economy, followed by immigration.
Voters trusted Trump to handle those issues more than Kamala.
The former President had an 11-point advantage over her immigration and six on the economy.
Atlanta, Georgia, resident Larrissa Alexander voted for Biden in the 2020 Election, but was supporting Trump this year because of Kamala’s failures as the “Border Czar.”
“I was very, extremely disappointed in her response to our immigration issue,” Alexander said. “And when she was first elected, that was one of the things that she was tasked with handling. And she accepted that responsibility. And then every time she was asked about it or pressed about it, it just was attitude-giving in return.”
Kamala Harris is running out of time to change the trajectory of the race with early voting underway and a dwindling number of undecided voters.
But her fate could already be baked in.
