Joy Behar spent years screaming that DEI was sacred and anyone opposing it was a bigot.
Now she's using "DEI" as an insult – aimed at a grieving woman who just buried her brother.

What Behar Actually Said on Wednesday's Show
Darline Graham was sworn into the U.S. Senate on Tuesday – the first woman ever to represent South Carolina, appointed by Gov. Henry McMaster after her brother Lindsey Graham died Saturday of an aortic dissection at 71.
Trump recommended her.
Tim Scott backed her.
McMaster called it an honor.
On Wednesday, Joy Behar looked at all of that and saw one thing: a target.
"Isn't this the very definition of a DEI?" Behar asked her co-hosts on The View.
Sunny Hostin – a former federal prosecutor who somehow cannot locate her own consistency – jumped in immediately: "Correct. It's everything that the Republican Party stands against. Everything. It's DEI. Nepotism. All these things thrown in together."

Behar piled on, sneering that serving in the Senate isn't "like taking over your mother's job at McDonald's."
Darline Graham is a certified optician, a commissioner for the South Carolina Commission for the Blind, and president-elect of the National Council of State Agencies for the Blind.
She is also the woman Lindsey Graham legally adopted after both of their parents died within 15 months of each other – their mother from Hodgkin lymphoma, their father from a heart attack – leaving her orphaned at 13.
The Hypocrisy Is So Thick You Can Cut It
Here is what Joy Behar said just six days before trashing Darline Graham.
On July 10, The View descended into a shouting match after Behar argued that Democrats need to run a white man to win the presidency.
"I've been watching this country for a long time," she said. "You've got to be in reality."
So: a white man chosen for his identity? That's political realism.
A woman chosen to honor her brother and represent the voters who elected him? That's DEI.
The goalpost doesn't just move for Joy Behar – it teleports.

Hostin is no better.
She spent 2024 defending Kamala Harris receiving the Democrat presidential nomination without a single primary vote – yet she cannot stomach a temporary Senate appointment that will last six months and end with a full election.
The Left Just Handed Conservatives the Perfect Clip
Senate appointments following the death of a sitting senator are not unusual.
Lisa Murkowski was appointed by her own father to fill his Alaska Senate seat in 2002 – and went on to win four full terms.
Jean Carnahan was appointed to Missouri's Senate seat in 2000 after her husband died on the campaign trail.
Ted Kennedy won his brother John's Senate seat in a 1962 special election – and Democrats have considered that family legacy heroic for six decades.
Behar has specifically praised Ted Kennedy on multiple occasions, once defending him by saying "he voted correctly."
Now she's calling the same tradition – family connection, gubernatorial appointment, temporary seat – "the very definition of DEI."
The only variable that changed is the party.
Behar Mocked a Grieving Woman and Got Caught Being a Hypocrite
Lindsey Graham was barely in the ground, and Behar and Hostin were on national television mocking his sister, sneering at her profession, and weaponizing a word they spent years calling a civil rights imperative.

One of their own co-hosts – Alyssa Farah Griffin – pushed back in real time, noting that family appointments happen on both sides and give voters someone who understands what they actually elected.
Behar and Hostin ignored her.
That is what happens when the performance matters more than the principle.
Darline Graham will be in the Senate until January doing Lindsey Graham's work – supporting Trump, representing South Carolina, finishing what her brother started.
Joy Behar will be on The View tomorrow doing what she always does: saying whatever scores the cheapest point against whoever the Left currently hates.
The audience watching at home knows the difference.
