Democrats have been on the warpath since Trump retook the White House.
But one of their loudest voices just got caught red-handed.
And Jon Stewart just left Mark Kelly speechless with this one question about Obama.
Jon Stewart exposed Democrats' massive double standard
Arizona Senator Mark Kelly thought he was walking into a friendly interview on The Daily Show this week.
He was wrong.
Kelly showed up to blast Trump's Venezuela operation and defend his controversial video telling troops they can refuse "illegal orders."
But comedian Jon Stewart had other plans — and what happened next left Kelly stammering for answers.
Stewart asked Kelly point blank whether Trump's strikes on drug-trafficking boats in the Caribbean were actually illegal.
Kelly admitted the government has a "complicated legal rationale" — 40 pages worth — justifying the strikes.
Then he dropped the bombshell: the legality is "questionable at best."
Kelly even admitted the justifications kept shifting — first it was fentanyl, then cocaine, then regime change, then oil.
Whatever excuse fit the moment.
That's when Stewart delivered the knockout punch.
He reminded Kelly that under the Obama administration, the U.S. government carried out drone strikes that killed American citizens — including a 16-year-old boy — without any charges or trial.
"Under the Obama administration, they did extrajudicial killings of American citizens through drone strikes," Stewart said.
Where was Kelly's video telling troops to refuse those orders?
Crickets.
Obama's drone program killed Americans without charges
Stewart was talking about Anwar al-Awlaki, a New Mexico-born cleric the Obama administration accused of terrorism ties.
Obama personally approved putting al-Awlaki on a kill list and ordered his execution in Yemen on September 30, 2011.
No trial, no charges, no due process — just a Hellfire missile from a drone.
Two weeks later, another drone strike killed al-Awlaki's 16-year-old son Abdulrahman, an American citizen born in Denver.
The Obama administration called it a "mistake" but never apologized and never faced consequences.
Attorney General Eric Holder later admitted the government killed four Americans total in drone strikes since 2009 — three of them "not specifically targeted."
Civil liberties groups sued, calling it an unconstitutional execution that violated American citizens' Fifth Amendment rights.
But Democrats who now scream about Trump's "illegal orders" were dead silent when Obama was vaporizing Americans with flying robots.
The Obama administration even drafted 40 pages of legal gymnastics to justify the killings — the same kind of "complicated legal rationale" Kelly just admitted exists for Trump's Venezuela strikes.
Kelly sat on the Senate Armed Services Committee for years and never once urged troops to refuse Obama's drone program.
He never filmed a video with five other Democrats warning the military about killing American teenagers without trial.
Pete Hegseth just made Kelly pay the price
Kelly's hypocrisy came to a head this week when Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced he's demoting Kelly's military rank and slashing his retirement pay.
Hegseth called Kelly's video "seditious" and said it was "clearly intended to undermine good order and military discipline."
Kelly remains accountable under military law as a retired officer who still collects a military pension.
Hegseth issued a formal letter of censure and started proceedings to reduce Kelly's rank — which will cut his retirement checks.
Kelly has 30 days to respond.
But the damage is done.
Kelly went on The Daily Show trying to play the victim and got exposed as a partisan hack instead.
He wants troops to scrutinize every Trump order with a microscope while giving Obama a free pass to kill American citizens with drones.
Stewart's question revealed what conservatives already knew — Democrats don't care about "illegal orders" or constitutional rights, they just care about opposing Trump.
When Obama killed Americans including a 16-year-old without any charges, that was fine.
When Trump strikes boats full of drug traffickers, suddenly it's a constitutional crisis.
That's pure partisan politics dressed up as principle.
Kelly can cry about Hegseth coming after his pension all he wants.
But Stewart just proved Kelly's entire argument is built on quicksand.
You can't spend years silent while Obama executes American teenagers, then turn around and tell troops to refuse Trump's lawful orders.
And thanks to Jon Stewart, millions of Americans just watched Kelly squirm when confronted with his own double standard.
