John Fetterman Just Told a George Soros-Backed DA to Back Off ICE Agents

Mar 31, 2026

An 18-year-old girl walked to Chicago's lakefront to watch the Northern Lights and came home in a body bag.

Now a Soros-backed DA is threatening to arrest the federal agents trying to stop the next one.

And the Democrat who sat with Laken Riley's family at the White House just told him to his face to knock it off.

The DA Who Wants to Arrest Cops Instead of Criminals

Larry Krasner – George Soros's man in Philadelphia – held a press conference at Philadelphia International Airport this week and promised to handcuff ICE agents.

"The president cannot pardon you," Krasner told agents who showed up to help overwhelmed TSA workers during the DHS partial shutdown. "I will put you in handcuffs. I will put you in a courtroom. And if necessary, I will put you in a jail cell."

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., had three words for him.

"Lighten up, Francis," Fetterman said Thursday – quoting the unhinged character "Psycho" from the 1981 movie Stripes. "He says a lot of tough things but, you know, like, you gotta lighten up, Francis."

Fetterman is a Democrat.

The same Democrat who co-sponsored the Laken Riley Act, sat beside her family when Trump signed it into law, and has watched his own party spend a year protecting the system that keeps getting Americans killed.

Sheridan Gorman Died Because Chicago's Sanctuary City Released Her Killer Twice

Sheridan Gorman was a Loyola University freshman from Yorktown Heights, New York.

On March 20, she walked to the pier at Chicago's Tobey Prinz Beach with friends, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northern Lights.

Jose Medina-Medina was waiting behind a lighthouse, wearing all black, wearing a mask, armed with a .40-caliber handgun.

He shot her as she ran.

She was killed at the scene.

DHS confirmed what Chicago's sanctuary politicians refused to say out loud: Medina-Medina entered the United States illegally in May 2023, released into the country under the Biden administration.

One month later, Chicago arrested him for shoplifting $132 worth of merchandise from a Macy's on State Street.

Chicago released him.

He skipped his court date and an arrest warrant sat unserved until it was too late.

"She was failed by open border policies and sanctuary politicians who RELEASED this illegal alien TWICE before he went on to commit this heinous murder," said DHS Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis.

Fetterman connected the dots his own party refuses to touch.

"From what I read, the individual accused of killing [Gorman] – he was arrested for shoplifting," Fetterman said. "That's why I was the Democratic lead on Laken Riley."

The Laken Riley Act – the first bill Trump signed into law in his second term – requires federal detention of illegal aliens arrested for theft, burglary, or violent crimes.

Thirty-five Senate Democrats voted against it.

Fetterman co-sponsored it.

Illegal Aliens Released Before Killing Again and Democrats Keep Looking Away

Gorman is not a one-off.

In Virginia, Abdul Jalloh – a Sierra Leone national with 30 prior releases – stabbed Stephanie Minter in the neck at a bus stop.

DHS called out Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger by name: commit to not releasing this violent career criminal without notifying ICE.

In Chicago, Mayor Brandon Johnson has already promised his city's police will never cooperate with ICE.

In Philadelphia, Krasner – who presided over more than 1,000 homicides in 20 months – now spends his press conferences threatening the people trying to deport murderers.

Fetterman sees it plainly.

"If you're here in the country illegally already, and you're breaking the law – ya gotta go," he said.

He added the reminder his colleagues apparently need: "It should remind everybody how important ICE is for our security."

Illinois law bars local police from sharing information with federal immigration agents or honoring ICE detainers unless a federal criminal warrant is issued.

Medina-Medina had an active warrant from the shoplifting case he skipped.

Nobody served it.

Why Krasner Cannot Actually Arrest ICE Agents and He Knows It

Here's what the Soros DA left out of his airport press conference: he almost certainly cannot arrest ICE agents performing their federal duties.

Federal officers enforcing lawful executive orders are protected by the Supremacy Clause — and interfering with a federal officer in the performance of their duties is itself a federal felony.

Krasner has made this threat before.

He called ICE agents Nazis at a January City Hall rally and vowed to "hunt down" any agent who overstepped in his city.

He is still at the airport making speeches.

That's the tell.

This is a political performance for a base that wants to see someone – anyone – fight Trump, even if the fight is fake, even if the people they're shielding are violent criminals, and even if the cost is paid by 18-year-old girls walking to a pier to watch the Northern Lights.

Fetterman is the only Democrat willing to say what every American already knows: the politicians releasing the killers are the problem.

The agents trying to remove them are the solution.
