John Fetterman is one of the few Democrats to meet with Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees.
These sit-downs haven’t gone like anyone expected.
And John Fetterman got one promise from Kash Patel that stunned the liberal media.
John Fetterman’s re-invention tour continues
Pennsylvania Democrat Senator John Fetterman wants to pull a trick out of the Men in Black movies where he mindwipes voters into forgetting he’s a radical leftist.
Fetterman’s up for re-election in 2028 and he can see that his state is trending red.
Now Fetterman wants voters to ignore his Bernie-bro past and see him as a Trump-sympathetic Democrat.
Fetterman’s latest stunt is meeting with the Trump nominees – Pete Hegseth, Kash Patel, and Tulsi Gabbard – that the Swamp is most eager to destroy.
Kash Patel especially scares the establishment because, as FBI Director, he could order investigations into the Deep State agents and their Swamp allies like Liz Cheney, Adam Schiff, and former General Mark Milley, who many Americans believe spent the last eight years subverting the law and the Constitution to try to impeach and throw Donald Trump in jail.
Democrats avoided meetings with these nominees to deny them legitimacy that comes from bipartisan recognition and support.
ABC’s left-wing activist Jonathan Karl interviewed Fetterman on This Week and asked the Pennsylvania Senator about his meeting with Patel.
“You met with Kash Patel, I believe, right?” Karl inquired.
After Fetterman confirmed that was the case, Karl cut right to the case.
“He’s talked about going after Trump’s enemies,” Karl asked.
Fetterman said all of the meetings he takes with Trump nominees are “off the record,” so he didn’t want to get into what Patel told him, but – unlike disgraced FBI Directors James Comey and Christopher Wray – he assured Karl that Patel told him he wouldn’t be launching any witch hunts just for the sake of witch hunts.
That doesn’t mean those who pursued Trump are home free if they committed crimes.
But it means Patel will run an honest FBI that won’t launch legal terrorism against Trump’s enemies the way the weaponized FBI menaced Trump and his supporters.
“Yeah. And I– and we’ve had conversations, but we we had a, you know, all of all of these all of these interviews were all off the record and those things. So I’m not going to go into detail but but he absolutely– that’s never going to happen,” Fetterman stated.
“He’s not going to use the FBI to go after Trump’s enemies?” Karl asked.
“No, that’s not it,” Fetterman replied.
When Karl asked if he believed Patel, Fetterman replied that he learned about Patel’s impressive background as the child of immigrants and his previous work as a public defender.
“No, that’s what he claims. Yeah. And I found out, you know, his family’s origin story and immigration. And we talked about that and my wife, my family. Immigration and things. And so I learned things about him. I never knew that he was a public defender,” Fetterman continued.
Fetterman added that the meeting with Patel was worthwhile and that he is keeping an open mind about voting for his confirmation.
“I mean, it’s how much you can absorb in 30 minutes. Yeah, but I have learned things and I have heard things and I have no regrets for having these. I never left any of those interviews saying, well, that was a waste of time or I regret that,” Fetterman declared.
Fetterman supports socialist spending bills that cause inflation, packing the Supreme Court, abortion-on-demand, Big Labor power grabs, and transgender surgeries for minor children.
None of that is popular in increasingly red Pennsylvania.
But Fetterman doesn’t want to abandon his ideological roots on the Left.
And Fetterman’s plan for re-election is play-acting like a Trump supporter while continuing to vote like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
