Joe Rogan is America’s most popular podcaster and a major media power player in the wake of the 2024 election.
Rogan set off a political earthquake when he endorsed Donald Trump.
And Joe Rogan told Democrats the bad move Kamala Harris made that cost her the election.
Joe Rogan mocks the Left for wanting their version of his show
Donald Trump bypassed the traditional media to go on podcasts like the ones hosted by Rogan, Theo Von, and Andrew Schulz.
The Trump team correctly bet that going on these shows would allow Trump to reach irregular voters and young men.
Exit polls showed Trump won voters who didn’t turn out in 2020 and men aged 18 to 29.
Kamala Harris tried her own podcast strategy, but she wouldn’t go on Rogan’s show because her handlers didn’t trust that she could hold up for a three-hour interview.
Rogan broke down how Kamala Harris and the Left failed at podcasting on a recent episode of his show featuring entrepreneur Marc Andreessen.
Rogan admitted Kamala Harris went on podcasts such as Call Her Daddy – a show focused on the sex lives of young women – and others, but not that nothing compared to the reach of his show.
Kamala showing up on Call Her Daddy accumulated just 900,000 views.
Donald Trump going on Joe Rogan’s show amassed 45,000,0000 views.
Rogan said that made it all the more amusing because the Left’s big takeaway from the election was they needed their own version of Joe Rogan.
“I think these Call Her Daddy shows and all these different shows that she went on, I mean, I’m sure they had an impact. But I think that in the future, I’m sure they’re scrambling to try to create their own version of this show. This is one thing that keeps coming up, like, ‘We need our own Joe Rogan,’” Rogan began.
Rogan told Andreessen that the Left had their own version of Joe Rogan.
And it was Joe Rogan.
“But they had me,” Rogan continued. “I was on their side.”
Rogan was a Bernie Sanders supporter.
But Andreessen noted that while the Left drove him away, Democrats still had a monopoly on traditional media.
“They had you, and they drove you away. That’s number one. But they also have, you know, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN. Right?” Andreessen asked.
Rogan explained that was old thinking as social media made the legacy press about as relevant as smoke signals.
“But that doesn’t work anymore. It’s like, you know, like you’re using smoke signals, and everybody else has a cell phone,” Rogan stated.
“Yeah, that’s right. It doesn’t work. Yeah, that’s right. That’s right,” Andreessen agreed.
How the Left drove off Rogan
Two issues did more than anything to push away Joe Rogan.
One was the Left going all in on wokeness and transgenderism.
The second was the embrace of Internet censorship during the pandemic.
White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki once called for Big Tech to censor Rogan over Rogan’s opposition to Biden’s vaccine mandates.
“This disclaimer is a positive step, but we want every platform to continue doing more to call out mis- and disinformation while also uplifting accurate information,” Psaki said after Spotify – who hosted Rogan’s podcast – added a disclaimer about potential medical misinformation.
But Psaki said the disclaimer was only a start and that full-blown censorship of Rogan could be necessary.
“Our view is it’s a good step,” Psaki concluded. “It’s a positive step, but there’s more that can be done.”
With Elon Musk owning X and pro-Trump Rogan hosting the biggest podcast in America, the right has – for the first time ever – a media apparatus that can go toe to toe with the traditional media.
The Right being at parity with the Left on the media front is freaking the Democrat party out more than anything.
