But now Joe Biden went rogue, and Kamala Harris knows she has one ugly problem on her hands.
Joe Biden undercuts Kamala Harris on Hurricane Milton
Kamala Harris couldn’t have looked worse in the response to Hurricane Helene.
Helene killed hundreds with hundreds, possibly thousands, still unaccounted for.
While Helene pounded the southeast, Kamala Harris attended a lavish fundraiser in San Francisco.
Joe Biden lounged around on the beach.
And the Biden-Harris administration neglected to mobilize a full rescue and recovery operation for nearly a week after the storm hit.
Kamala Harris tried to reboot her image as someone qualified to be President as Hurricane Milton bore down on Florida.
But instead of looking like a leader, Kamala Harris’ attempt to stage a campaign photo-op backfired.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis missed her call because DeSantis was busy dealing with disaster preparation, and since Kamala Harris is the sitting Vice President, she has no actual role in that matter.
That led to Kamala Harris lashing out calling Ron DeSantis “selfish” for not taking her call.
“Playing political games at this moment in these crisis situations — these are the height of emergency situations — is just utterly irresponsible and it is selfish and it is about political gamesmanship,” Kamala Harris ranted.
But one person who doesn’t think Ron DeSantis is selfish is Joe Biden.
Shortly after Kamala Harris accused DeSantis of playing politics, Biden posted to social media that he was working closely with DeSantis on storm preparation and that he was in close contact with the Florida Governor.
“Tonight, I spoke with Florida Governor DeSantis and Tampa Mayor Castor for firsthand reports on Hurricane Helene recovery and preparations for Hurricane Milton. My Administration is ready to support both leaders and the people of Florida with any further resources they may need,” Biden wrote on X.

Joe Biden twists the knife in deeper
The following day, Biden went out of his way to embarrass Kamala Harris even more.
Biden applauded DeSantis for doing a “great job” in getting his state prepared for a storm that threatens apocalyptic levels of destruction.
“The Governor of Florida has been cooperative. He’s said he’s gotten all that he needs. I talked to him again yesterday and I said — a — boy — I said I know you’re doing a great job. It’s being all — being done well, we thank you for it and I literally gave him my personal phone number to call, so I don’t know — there was a rough start in some places, but every governor — every governor — from Florida to North Carolina, has been fully cooperative and supportive and acknowledged what this team is doing and they’re doing an incredible job. But we got a lot more work to do,” Biden stated.
Kamala Harris couldn’t come off looking worse.
The worst thing a politician can do is turn a natural disaster into politics.
That’s when Presidents are supposed to rise above and offer a message of consolation and unity.
