Janet Yellen doesn’t see any inflation at the store
The country is dealing with its worst inflation in 40 years after President Joe Biden flooded the economy with trillions in wasteful stimulus.
Biden’s Department of Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen was lambasted for repeatedly telling the public that it would only be temporary for most of 2021.
She stepped in it yet again when she gave a tone-deaf answer about rising prices at the grocery store during an interview with Yahoo Finance’s Jennifer Schonberger.
Schonberger set her questions up to allow Yellen to express some empathy with voters struggling with sticker shock at the grocery store.
“Have you been to the grocery store lately?” Schonberger asked.
“I sure have — I go every week,” Yellen replied.
“It’s sticker shock, isn’t it?” Schonberger remarked.
“No,” Yellen fired back.
Grocery store prices are up more than 25% since Biden took office in 2021.
The Treasury Secretary – after her previous failure – predicted that inflation would be back to normal early next year.
Americans are struggling with high prices and her response is to dismiss their concerns.
Mike Huckabee demolishes Janet Yellen for her inflation remarks
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee ripped Yellen for claiming she didn’t see inflation at the grocery store during an appearance on Fox News.
“Yeah, thank goodness my wife keeps some chickens because we’ve been able to afford eggs only because we have chickens providing them,” Huckabee said. “Otherwise, we probably wouldn’t be having any. This idea that Janet Yellen sits down there and says, ‘No I don’t see any sticker shock.’ Do you know why? Cause she’s worth $20 million.”
Yellen’s attitude is that inflation is a problem for the little people, according to the former Arkansas Governor.
“Rich people don’t feel inflation,” Huckabee continued. “They can afford it whether their grocery basket cost $200 or $1,200. They don’t even think about it. Because it doesn’t matter. They know that whatever it is, they can pay for it.”
Inflation is one of the biggest problems facing voters this year, and she has no empathy with Americans struggling to make ends meet.
“They get what they want. They don’t clip coupons,” Huckabee remarked. “They don’t look at sales items and figure out what they can afford and what they can’t. But most Americans are doing that. What I don’t understand is the absolute just I mean tone-deaf approach that this administration has taken.”
Huckabee was stunned that Yellen would insult voters with her condescending answer.
“What they are basically saying to Americans is this there’s really plenty of money in your wallet, you just don’t see it,” Huckabee said. “Those prices are really not that high, you just don’t understand math. Americans are looking at it and saying look, ‘I bought bacon, bread, butter, and biscuits last week and I know what they cost.’ They cost a heck of a lot more than it did when Donald Trump was my President. I can’t wait for him to be my president again so I can put food on my family’s table.”
