The Washington Post ran to a "color consultant" to tell America the new shade of blue would look "very dismal."
What Biden Left Behind
The numbers tell the whole story.
The Reflecting Pool was leaking 45,000 gallons of water every single day when Trump took office.
Expansion joints installed during the Obama era were draining 16 million gallons annually – costing taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars every year while nobody in the Biden White House lifted a finger.

Three and a half years of a drained, fenced-off eyesore sitting between the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument – while tourists flew in from every corner of the globe to see America's capital.
Trump said no.
He called three contractors he had worked with in the pool industry, got competitive pricing, and got moving.
Final cost: roughly $2 million.
Timeline: done before July 4th.
That is a $299 million difference between the Trump way and the Biden way.
The Media Lost Their Minds Anyway
The establishment press could not accept a win.
The Washington Post dispatched a "color consultant" to weigh in on the American flag blue Trump selected for the pool's new surface – chosen because the previous bottom had turned a dull institutional gray over a century of neglect.
The New York Times piled on with its own criticism of the improvements.
Interior Secretary Doug Burgum lit them up, pointing out that the Obama administration had spent $38 million on the Reflecting Pool and still left it broken.

Trump fired back directly, defending the construction workers bringing the 2,028-foot pool back to life: "Finally, we have professionals doing the right job for a tiny fraction of the money."
Burgum's assessment was simpler: the water is back, the Washington Monument is reflecting in it, and America has a master builder in the Oval Office.
"We've got President Trump," Burgum told Breitbart News. "He's the only guy that's ever occupied that office that's done the level of complex construction projects. He loves construction workers. He loves construction, and he knows exactly what he's talking about on these projects."
America Noticed
The moment water started filling back in, Americans shared what they saw.
Video of the partially refilled pool – already catching the reflection of the Washington Monument – circulated widely on social media.
"I'd heard so much about the newly renovated Reflecting Pool, so I decided to come see it for myself," one visitor posted on X. "It's absolutely beautiful. Thank you, Donald Trump, for helping restore our nation's capital."
A previously skeptical woman on video admitted she liked how it looked.
The timing matters as much as the result.
America turns 250 years old on July 4th, and millions of people will descend on the National Mall for the semiquincentennial celebration.
One of the most photographed landmarks in Washington will be filled, restored, and gleaming – because a president who actually knows how to build things took charge of it.
Every Democrat running in 2026 and 2028 is going to tell you the government needs more funding, more time, and more experts to solve America's problems.
Point them to the Reflecting Pool.
