The lawfare against Donald Trump won’t go unanswered.
Democrat prosecutors who targeted Donald Trump with lawfare are facing accountability.
And Jim Jordan gave Fani Willis one ultimatum that is very bad news.
Jim Jordan’s investigation into Fani Willis ramps up
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) is tired of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis playing political games.
Willis ignored multiple requests from the Committee to turn over records of communication between her office and special counsel Jack Smith as well as the January 6 Committee.
Now that the election is over and Willis’ sham charges against Donald Trump are sure to be dismissed, Chairman Jordan made his move.
Jordan sent another letter to Willis demanding that she turn over the requested records to the Committee.
“The Committee on the Judiciary continues to conduct oversight of politically motivated prosecutions by state and local officials,” Jordan’s letter read. “To date, you have failed to produce all information responsive to these requests.”
Jordan cited a recent ruling by a judge in Georgia that Willis violated state open records laws by not turning over records of her communications to Smith’s office and the January 6 Committee as evidence, saying she had no legal standing to deny Jordan’s document request.
“After you failed to timely or sufficiently respond to Judicial Watch’s lawsuit, the Superior Court of Fulton County ordered you to ‘conduct a diligent search of [your] records for responsive materials within five business days of [the] Order,’ and to provide Judicial Watch ‘with copies of all responsive records that are not legally exempted or excepted from disclosure,’” Jordan added.
Jordan detailed the numerous requests the Committee made for these documents that Willis simply blew off.
“Accordingly, the Committee hereby reiterates the requests contained in our August 24, 2023, and December 5, 2023, letters, including those relating to Special Counsel Jack Smith and the January 6 Select Committee, and expects your voluntary compliance with these requests,” the letter continued.
Jordan told Willis that he expected these records turned over, and if Willis couldn’t produce them, Jordan expected a written explanation as to why.
“If you are unable to locate responsive records, choose to withhold certain records from disclosure, or choose to redact information contained in responsive materials, please provide to the Committee in writing the reasons for doing so,” Jordan warned.
Donald Trump insisted from day one that the criminal cases against him were an organized effort by the Biden-Harris administration to interfere in the election.
Willis could hide behind the fact that she had an ongoing criminal case to ignore Jordan’s request for documents.
The election changed everything.
Donald Trump’s win meant all the cases against Donald Trump went away.
Jack Smith filed motions in court to dismiss his witch hunts against Trump.
The courts in Georgia are sure to dismiss Willis’ indictment of Trump.
But that’s not the end of this story, as Republicans in Congress are determined to drag into the light any potential sordid dealings by the Democrats to weaponize the courts.
