Conservative activist Chris Rufo wants to help Donald Trump end DEI
Manhattan Institute scholar Christopher Rufo is one of the leaders in fighting back against the diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) agenda that’s run rampant in government, businesses, and education.
He exposed plagiarism committed by former Harvard President Claudine Gay, which played a role in her resignation.
Rufo was invited to Mar-a-Lago to speak with President-elect Donald Trump about getting rid of the DEI agenda in higher education and the federal government.
The Manhattan Institute scholar also worked with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis to rid the state’s educational system of DEI and critical race theory (CRT).
Rufo appeared on the Fox News show Jesse Watters Primetime to talk about taking his fight against DEI in higher education nationally.
“So you were very effective working with DeSantis in Florida in ripping CRT and DEI out of the education ecosystem. You’re saying that there’s an opportunity to do that nationally now?” Fox News host Jesse Watters asked.
“That’s exactly right,” Rufo replied. “President Trump has the opportunity to do what we’ve done in Florida on a national scale.”
DEI spending exploded during the Biden-Harris administration.
Rufo highlighted how DEI spending in the federal government went from $19 million in 2019 under Trump to more than $1 billion under President Joe Biden.
“This is a multibillion-dollar industry that has now thousands of federal employees practicing racism, demanding segregation, and thinking that the United States is a fundamentally racist country,” Rufo explained. “The President could put a stop to that on day one. He can abolish DEI and restore colorblind equality once and for all.”
He said that even the Deep State has gone woke with the DEI agenda.
“One of the greatest concentrations of the Deep State is in these DEI departments that have attached themselves at Treasury, at the State Department, at the FBI, in the U.S. military,” Rufo stated. “Those jobs have to get shut down. Those programs have to get terminated on day one. That’s how the President can achieve his entire agenda. And I hope that he does it and we’re all here to support it.”
A stunned Watters asked if DEI had become a Trojan Horse for the Deep State.
“Yeah, that’s 100% true. I mean, it really is at this point, the focus of ideology within the administration,” Rufo said. “And this has been growing for many decades. It accelerated after 2020. It went crazy under the Biden-Harris administration, where they had two executive orders requiring every single federal department to double down on DEI.”
Biden issued an executive order that injected DEI into every area of the federal government by requiring every agency and department to make advancing DEI goals a top priority.
The results have been a disaster, with the military being crippled by seminars on proper pronoun usage and pansexuality.
Donald Trump can follow the Florida model and take a sledgehammer to the DEI agenda.
